A number of fans would love to have Martha Byrne back on daytime but where would she fit in? Byrne rose to heights of fame as she played As the World Turns' Lily Snyder on and off from 1985 - 2008. She also played Lily's twin sister Rose D'Angelo from 2000 - 2003. A part from her work on the CBS daytime drama, Byrne is known for playing the role of Andrea Floyd on 'General Hospital' for a brief period in 2009. Fans suggested that Byrne should return to daytime with a role on 'The Young and the Restless' and possibly become a love interest for Paul [Doug Davidson] though he's currently with Christine [Lauralee Bell, her longtime friend].
So, what exactly does Byrne have to offer 'Y&R'?
For one, Byrne is a super-talented actress who is also known for her singing and writing abilities. In the past she worked briefly as a script writer for 'The Bold and the Beautiful'. She has proven her outstanding acting abilities to deliver top notch performances as she is a ten-time Daytime Emmy Award nominee. Byrne has won the award for Outstanding Younger Actress in 1987, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series in 2001 and Outstanding Performer in a New Approach Drama Series in 2015. Certainly her talented would be welcomed by many 'Y&R' fans but the storyline would and should be captivating enough to have her stick around for the long-haul.
