This Fall, The Pink Panther Clique Will Debut in the Queen’s Court
Wahida Clark—the Queen of Urban Fiction—Will Publish First in Series
From Renowned Group
Best-selling author and reigning Queen of Urban Fiction, Wahida Clark will introduce The Pink Panther Clique with their self-titled release in a fiction series from Wahida Clark Publishing. In the spirit of Clark, the trio of authors’ experiences during years as former inmates in the Federal Corrections System inspire the stories from behind bars for The Pink Panther Clique.
“We are honored to call The Pink Panther Clique ‘family’ and excited to share their books with fans of urban fiction,” Clark said. “Collectively, these ladies shine a much-needed spotlight on incarcerated women inspired by their own years spent behind bars.”
THE PINK PANTHER CLIQUE AUTHORS
Aisha Hall was born and raised in Roosevelt, New York. Her love for writing stories and music started as a child. At the age of 25, she was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison on a federal conspiracy charge, sending her to prison to serve this sentence. Aisha has become an activist, bringing awareness to the epidemic of women and mass incarceration. She is currently scheduled to be released on October 3, 2017.
Sunshine Smith-Williams is a serial entrepreneur, philanthropist, mentor, motivational speaker, and author. Raised in Jamaica-Queens, New York, by a single mother who struggled to make ends meet, Smith-Williams grew up in multiple impoverished housing projects with little hope. In May 2013, she gave an old friend a ride that eventually cost her, her freedom. This experience enlightened Smith-Williams to her purpose. She currently resides in a suburb in Nassau County, New York, with her husband/business partner and their 8-year-old son.
Jamila T. Davis
Jamila T. Davis, born and raised in Jamaica-Queens, New York, is a motivational speaker, prison reform activist, and published author. In her twenties, Davis was a top music industry executive and real estate mogul. Her empire crumbled when she was convicted and sentenced to 12½ years in federal prison for her role in a multimillion-dollar bank fraud scheme. Davis is completing her sentence at a halfway house.
In The Pink Panther Clique, three strangers meet behind bars and learn quickly that prison is not what they expected. They are surrounded by disloyal snitches, setups, and scandalous drama. Determined to survive the system that has enslaved them, this group of courageous, enterprising women embark on a mission to level the scales of justice.
The Pink Panther Clique will release on October 3, 2017—the same day that Hall will be released from federal prison.
