Chance is the son of Nina Webster (ex-Tricia Cast) and Phillip Chancellor III (ex-Thom Bierdz), he is also the grandchild of scion character, Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton). Throughout his time in Genoa City, Chance worked as a GC Police Detective. He was romantically involved with Heather Stevens and Chloe Mitchell (ex-Elizabeth Hendrickson) with whom he was previously engaged.
Chance for a time was briefly presumed dead when his character was shot and supposedly killed by his half brother, Ronan (ex-Jeff Branson) in 2010. It was later revealed that he was in fact alive and in Witness Protection Program. Chance later returned for more scenes as he became the donor for Ronan who was in need of a liver transplant. In his last scenes, Chance was revealed to be secretly working with Ronan to take Colin (Tristan Rogers) down, he later revealed that he will be leaving GC as he was offered a job at The Pentagon.
