Todays' 'Y&R' episode was one of the best in recent times, especially since so many talented people were involved in that big reveal story. No doubt, it's good to have the Abbott matriarch, Dina (Marla Adams) back but things are about to get more complicated for her especially with what took place in today's episode of 'The Young and the Restless'.
In a recent interview with TV Insider, Adams dished on her triumphant return to soaps at her age. Dina is in the early stages of dementia and on this subject, Adams highlighted, "Who knows how quickly this disease will progress? And there are so many different levels of dementia. I’m not on contract. I’m just a humble day player. But, for all I know, they might keep me on for five more years. We’ve been working with the Alzheimer’s Association to make sure we’re doing all this accurately and realistically. Sometimes this has been scary as hell to play because it puts me in touch with my own mortality. But I’m also blown away by the opportunity because it’s a groundbreaking story and the audience can really relate. Almost everyone has been touched, in some way, by Alzheimer’s."
While this talented legend is not on contract and we're hoping the soap will somehow give her one, Adams has more story on the soap. It will be an interesting disaster when fans see what Dina does next. "The frost is on the pumpkin! A lot is going to happen between now and Halloween. They’re addressing my story full tilt and it really gets juicy. It’s very emotional, very draining. In fact, I just got off work before I sat down for this conversation with you and, when I get done with you, I am going to have myself a little vodka martini! And I have earned it!" she shared as she spoke exclusively with TV Insiders' Michael Logan.
So, fans are you enjoying the story so far? Are you hoping Adams sticks around for the long-haul?
