Laura Wright has been doing an excellent job with her role as Carly Corinthos on 'General Hospital', she's sometimes that character you just love to hate and other time she's just the one you simply love. Her acting in the story she plays is simply as a result of the material she is given by the writers and that is something the fans of the ABC daytime drama need to realize. She's just playing a character, it does not mean that's who she is as a person. As a result of playing her character, Wright was victim to online bashing by mean fans who were not in support of her character's doing. In fact, one such Twitter user wished death upon the talented star.
In the latest issue of the world's leading Soap Magazine, Soap Opera Digest, Wright discusses the issue. Many fans believe that the show and actors disrespected Billy Miller (Drew) by bringing back Steve Burton (Jason) to play a role they felt Miller earned the right to continue playing and in so doing sent ugly threats on Twitter. Wright shares, "The fact that we have just gotten a lot of flak and people are threatening us over soap opera characters and telling us they want us to get sick and die. I mean, I'm just like, 'You're kidding me.' It blows my mind." She went on further to say, "The truth is that yes, I am so excited that Steve came back (and) I also love having Billy here and think he's awesome. That's the truth".
