A host of soap stars will be in a new film based on a tragic event of the past. Tim McGrath, a writer and director has put together "Surviving Theater 9", a film based on real life events. In the film are 'General Hospital' stars; William deVry (Julian), Donnell Turner (Curtis) and Robert Palmer Watkins (Dillon) as well as former 'The Young and the Restless' actor Corbin Bernsen (ex-Father Todd) who was also on 'GH' as John Durant.
The film is based on the true events of the midnight screening of Batman in Aurora, Colorado July 20, 2012 when a gunman opened fire in the theater while McGrath was present. The incident became the largest mass shooting in American history at the time. McGrath who had experiences of PTSD symptoms went to law school after the tragic event and had trouble finding help until he met a woman named Kim, a previous survivor of another tragic event. McGrath used his experiences to put together this lovely film.
The aim of the upcoming film is to bring awareness to the situation and provide ways in which it can be handled. Check out the cast in video as they talk about upcoming number and stay tuned for updates!
