There's a soap remake or sort of happening somewhere. All My Children, One Life to Live and Guiding Light fans will be very happy to know that a new drama series involving a few Springfield-ites, Pine Valley-ites and Llanview-ites is on its way. According to Variety a series titled Melange is set to be filmed from August 4 - 7 in Manhattan. Former Days of Our Lives actress, Morgan Fairchild (ex-Anjelica Deveraux) has been cast in the lead role of Vivian.
The series follows the story of the fight over the ownership of an historic New York City gay bar with the series title, after the owner suddenly dies. Variety reports that it will explore major topics such as; addiction, sexuality, power, immigration and inclusion.
The half hour series will also star Robert Newman (ex-Josh Lewis, Guiding Light) who plays Syd Winchester, Darnell Williams (ex-Jesse Hubbard, All My Children and ex-Serge Wilder, The Young and the Restless), Ilene Kristen (ex-Roxy Balsom, OLTL), Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr Manning, OLTL and ex-Kiki Jerome, General Hospital), David A. Gregory (ex-Robert Ford, OLTL), Jessica Leccia (ex-Inez Salinger, OLTL and ex-Natalie Rivera, GL) Scott Evans, Anne Ramsay, Perez Hilton, Pamela Winslow Kashani, Maya Days, Mark Indelicaro, Alex Newell, Laith Ashley and Diana DeGarmo. No network has been annouced yet but Tom D'Angora is listed as the creator and executive producer.
