A former Days of Our Lives actor's part in a forthcoming film has been removed due to the revelation of his sordid past. According to reports, Steve Wilder who played the part of Jack Deveraux on Days from 1997 - 1998 was set for the upcoming Fox movie titled "The Predator" but his scene in the film has now been cut upon the studio learning that he is Connecticut's sex offender registry.
For those who may not know, Wilder was arrested by Newtown Police in August 2009 on charges of inappropriate internet relationship with an underage girl. He was convicted in May 2010 of two felonies. He was later sentenced in August 2010 to 10 years in prison which was suspended after he served 6 months in jail and three years of probation.
In a statement to The Times, the studio stated, “Our studio was not aware of Mr. Striegel’s background when he was hired. We were not aware of his background during the casting process due to legal limitations that impede studios from running background checks on actors.” For more on this story, visit We Love Soaps.
