What's up with General Hospital lately? Read more here--->>>

It’s 2018; it’s a critical time for all of us. We all feel that we’re part of these major groups. We are starting to feel like we’re being misrepresented by major shows on air we all enjoy. For instance, we have people who have disabilities… where is their representation? What about the LGBTQ communities…where is theirs? Or the people of colour… where is their representation? Or the blind/deaf… what about them? I’ve found that many soaps like General Hospital aren’t covering the bases like we thought they should. Yeah we have Brad and Lucas (Parry Shen and Ryan Carnes) for the LGBTQ factor and we have Curtis, Stella and Jordan (Donnell Turner, Vernee Watson and Briana Nicole Henry) for those who are black. But what about those with disabilities? We have none with things like autism, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis... Absolutely none of them.
Now we’ve got the issue about representation down. What are we doing with the dragging of storylines? We’re noticing they’re going on too far and it’s rather congestive. We’ve pretty much seen the storyline of Nelle blackmailing Carly and her family go on for a very long time... We’re so done with Nelle Benson being the center of attention all the damn time. We’re dealing with all this baby switcharoo going on. C’mon, Brad has Nelle and Michael’s kid and it isn’t Wiley who was the kid they adopted before the Wiley they had for a brief moment in time died from SIDS… so they were given Jonah (the child that Michael deserves to be a dad to….) Then we had the craziness of who Anna’s son was…. And that was Henrik Faison who’s Cesar’s kid too but he was the demon, Anna was the angel. They had a child together. A decently beautiful little boy that Anna didn’t get to raise because Sneaky McSneak Valentin decided to give the kid to Cesar Faison. Now we have Mike Corbin, whose Sonny’s dad with Alzheimer’s like really he has Alzheimer’s… give it a rest - we don’t need another 40 week long storyline. Yeah the Alzheimer’s storyline brings awareness to the neurological disease but dragging it for a long time gets too repetitious.
Another thing I think should end is all the fighting between the Kelly+Billy and Kelly+Steve (Killy/Stelly) fan bases... It is childish but it’s their opinion… Although the fighting even when its Sam and Drew or Sam and Jason has to stop. Its’ rather immature of the certain GH fans... What also I’ve noticed is that Kelly Monaco is always caught up in the middle of the fiasco; and she doesn’t need this negativity in her life. She has no time for it whatsoever. Bless Kelly’s heart for even dealing with all the haters head on though. Gold stars all around.
I do want to give acting credits to Laura Wright though aka Mama Bear Carly for the way she portrayed Carly’s dreadful stay at Ferncliff when it was all the Nelle drama. She handled it like a total boss. Hell, I wouldn’t have been able to deal with all the mental hospital stuff the way Carly did. She was killin’ it! Also to Patricia Bethune aka Mary Pat for being able to portray a psycho nurse from hell so good. How her lines were perfectly delivered, it was the tip of the acting iceberg for sure! Those ladies really brought it to the table when that storyline was happening… The way that Patricia carried herself as this role really knocked it out of the park and I’m a bigger fan of her work now because of Boss Mode Mary. I would love to see Patricia do more roles in GH’s airspace. Maybe she comes back to deal with Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom), Kevin Collin’s psycho case twin brother that came back from the dead to raise a whole lotta hell in Port Charles.
Now we have this issue with the fact that most storylines are solely planted on plots, not of who the character is or who they were. We need more dialogue with our stories... For instance, we can dial back on Carly, Sonny, Jason and Sam... Maybe what we need is for them to bring Morgan back, even if it’s a recast for him. If they could recast Morgan (who used to be played by Bryan Craig), they could give him the plot to take over the family business into the next generation. More people are not watching the show because it doesn’t apply to them anymore... So maybe have more generational people and the show will last longer. Another issue we have is that some actors are not doing well with the acting. GH needs people who both can act and that are easy on the eyes. We have these people who can really get into character with a drop of their hat. Also we have these characters everyone can relate to… And that’s what GH needs to thrive longer and further into the future. We don’t need bland storylines, we need actual content that satisfies viewer’s likability.
What I would do personally? I’d have a kill-list of characters who aren’t necessary to the show’s vitality and would bring back some other past cast-mates that were essential to the show… Jonathan Jackson, Kimberly McCullough, Anthony Geary (even though retired), Sonya Eddy…the ideal lineup to fix what was broken of GH…. I’d keep Michelle Stafford, she personally has some skill that can make a good killing… I would also include more people of colour and more for the LGBTQ communities too. But I wouldn’t go on a killing spree and just knock them off like they’re ducks on the side of a child’s bathtub at bath time. That would help the ratings go from fourth place all the way back up to first place where they used to be before all this commotion with adding random nobodies into the mix. If the show wants ratings to go through the roof and excel like that of Days of Our Lives and Bold and the Beautiful then GH has to step up their game and work to be an efficient source of entertainment for the viewers in the future.
