Should Kyler Pettis Return to Days of Our Lives?

Theodore Brandon Carver the only offspring of supercouple Abe & Lexie (DiMera) Carver. Theodore Brandon Carver from two legacy families  Theodore Brandon Carver half of one of the cutest kid duos in soap history (the other half Ciara Brady when she was played by Lauren Boles.) On a side note can someone cast Ms. Boles and bring her back to daytime please and thank you!

Back to Theodore Brandon Carver who we will go by his most used name from here on out, Theo. Abe and Lexie noticed some developmental problems with Theo at a very young age (5ish). Theo was eventually diagnosed with autism. Days of Our Lives did an excellent job of addressing this topical issue and bringing it out into the forefront, as well as addressing how the diagnosis can impact kids, families, and peers. Terrell Ransom, Jr. and Kyler Pettis both did outstanding jobs in their portrayal's of an autistic Theo. (what comes to mind are scenes i.e. with Terrell and Lauren and Kyler and Billy Flynn, standout and stellar.)

We last saw Theo on his way to the Motherland (Africa) to receive therapy to help with his paralysis. Theo's paralysis was the result of the injuries he sustained when he was shot by then Salem cop, JJ Deveraux (Days Black Lives Matter arc.)  JJ was in pursuit of Theo who had tried to break into a warehouse (at the request of Kate Roberts).  JJ didn't know it was Theo. Theo had his back to him and was wearing a hoodie.

Another side note Days received some constructive warranted criticism that the relevant and "controversial" storyline of an unarmed black young man in a hoodie shot by a white cop was watered down and that the story became more about JJ than Theo, Abe and the topic that was being addressed. This was fair criticism. But Days still deserves credit for writing the story and addressing the issue.

We are closing in on a year since Theo left Salem. This is a good time to ask; is it time for Theo to return home?

The answer? A resounding yes!

Theo is part DiMera. Salem is in dire need of next gen DiMeras. There is such compelling storyline potential with bringing this character back to Salem. #ifwewrotedays;

Theo would return with a DiMera like edge. This would put him in opposition with his father Abe (Mayor of Salem) and sister Lani (Salem cop). Abe has always tried to keep Theo away from and protected from the DiMeras and their influence.  Theo is no longer a boy. He's an adult making his own choices. There would be little Abe could do. He would be helpless, frustrated and scared. It would be Abe's worst nightmare come true and could provide compelling drama.

Have Theo ready to take his place in the DiMera empire. He's young, ambitious and won't let his family, his race or his diagnosis stop him from what's rightfully his. Stefano is wherever. EJ is with his family. Chad is gone. Kristen is "dead". Stefan hasn't earned the right to be the head of the family.  Someone has to step up. Someone must carry the DiMera mantle. Why not him?

Theo's love interest would be white but it wouldn't be Ciara or Claire. He would move out of their direct orbit. The family would of course not want her with Theo (must have angst!) This could be because of race, his diagnosis or the fact that he does have DiMera blood or any combination of any two or all three could be the reasons. We need more interracial couples in daytime that get married and have kids. There is so much story to tell addressing all the issues that interracial couples and their kids have to face both externally and internally. These storylines could be poignant and powerful if done correctly. 

Theo being DiMera"ish" would also cause conflict between him and his BFF Ciara. His desire for power would pit him against Kate (who he would also have decided he hasn't forgiven for her role in him getting shot). These are just a couple of subplots we could see.

There is so much potential! Bring Lexie's baby home!
