Happy 8th anniversary Freddie Smith, watch some of his early scenes below!
Seven years ago today on June 23rd, 2011, Sonny Kiriakis appeared on screen for the very first time!! I can’t believe it’s been seven years already. I remember my first day like it was yesterday. With Sonny being the first openly gay contract player on Days of Our Lives, we all had a huge responsibility to tell an honest and truthful story about an out and proud gay man. I am so honored to say that not only did we tell a true love story, but did in such a way that Sonny Kiriakis has become one of the most liked and rooted for characters on the show! I want to thank Sony and NBC, the executive producers, writers, directors, cast and crew for telling a brave love story at a time when courage was needed to shed light on equal rights. I’m so happy that our story has impacted so many peoples lives in a positive way. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! #anniversary #nbcdays
