The Young and The Restless alum McKenna Grace (Ex-Faith Newman) is set to make history!
The Hollywood Reporter is stating that the young actress is scheduled to star in and co-produce a film adaption of the acclaimed Annie Hartnett novel Rabbit Cake.
The novel and upcoming dark comedy film are about young Elvis Babbitt who tries to use facts and humor to survive in the world after her mother suddenly passes away. You can read more about the novel here.
Rabbit Cake will be an Amazon Studios production with Susan Johnson directing. Johnson was at the forefront of the Netflix hit To All the Boys I've Loved Before and will work from a screenplay by Allie Hagan. Grace will co-produce with Alix Madigan who was nominated for an Oscar back in 2010 for producing Winter's Bone. McKenna is 12 years old and this project would make her the youngest producer of a studio film surpassing the previous record by Marsai Martin who was only 14 when she executive produced the comedy Little that was released earlier this year.
McKenna's star has certainly been on the rise since she left the role of Faith Newman on YR back in 2014. She has been involved in major productions like I, Tonya, Once Upon a Time and The Haunting of Hill House. She most recently played the young version Carol in Captain Marvel and her film Annabelle Comes Home is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 26th. She has also been tapped to play in Jason Reitman's
upcoming Ghostbusters film.
These are exciting times for the young actress and we wish her continued success! Be sure to check out McKenna in Annabelle Comes Home and stay tuned for updates on Rabbit Cake.
