Long live the Queen! No thanks to Evan though. LOL. He had the phone in his hand to call for help then he paused, paused and paused. Should I call for help? This could be my chance to rid myself of her. I wonder if she left me anything in her will? But I am her husband so I must be entitled to-. But Stephanie woke up on her own and he acted like he was relieved. We see you, Evan! Was I the only one who missed those fire purple shoes last week that Stephanie had on? Sister girl was laid out looking like the cover of Vogue!
What was next? Titus in the midst of cladding himself in a towel. A big thank you to the writers and the directors for that shot. And a big "we are jealous' to Amara who got the full frontal of Titus and all of his Titus' on full display. Yeah, yeah, that is his wife. But we are still jealous.
Carly after her fight with Stephanie slept by Grandpa Senior and Auntie Rondell's place. But she ran home when she found out her mom was sick. Stephanie told Carly she loved and accepted her for who she was. And that she wasn't going to tell her daddy about Tori. She needed to do that herself when she was ready. Nice scene.
Evan got an earful of what really happened at the Women's Empowerment Seminar (minus Stephanie running up on Cori coming out of the bathroom stall) after he accused Stephanie of taking drugs because the doctor found an obscure design of drugs in her system. The drugs plus the liquor was meant to be a lethal combination. Did you all hear Evan tell her thankfully he came home? Yeah holding a phone really saved Stephanie's life. That Evan is something huh? Stephanie told him he'd better find out who drugged her because if she had to do it; it wasn't gonna be nothing nice. She got out that bed and told him "the world doesn't stop because my heart almost did." Queen had work to do. Revenge.
Episode by episode Titus is learning more and more about what kind of people he works for. Arden (who works in the Purifoy lab) sort of dropped the dime that Purifoy does specifically target black people and poor communities in their marketing campaigns. Titus looked into it and was told that wasn't the case. We hope and trust he doesn't believe that. Titus is our McDreamy but that doesn't mean he should have his head in the clouds. And he has more to ponder as the Judge, who is also big pharma friendly, was assigned to the case against Stephanie.
The U.S. Attorney's Big Three Amara, Damian and Karen leaned on Roderick for him to tell them why he called out the Mayor on TV and why he had that big bruise on his face. Roderick kept his mouth shut thinking of all that money he and Bella were about to get. Well, well, well. As my momma would say you don't have to ask anybody nothing about themselves. You can always learn how a person really is by the company they keep. Rod, if Bella was sleeping with and had a child by Evan she has to be at least a little, somewhat, kind of, shady? Bella turned on Roderick faster than you can say airport concession. Yep, she did. She was acting like she felt guilty until Evan said those two magic words "Valentina DeSantos". Valentina makes luxury materials for the biggest fashion houses. Evan told Bella she would be working with Valentina and that was her in into getting the airport concession space. Roderick who? But then you also have to wonder if Roderick and Bella might be playing a longer game. We shall see.
Amara's investigation led her to the supervisor for building permits, Herschel. She accused him of accepting bribes from Greg Peters so Peter's building permits would be on the "fast track" of approval aka rubber stamping. Amara's plan is for Herschel to lead them to Daphne, who will lead them to Evan and Peters. This is gonna be good fam.
Stephanie accused Lori of drugging her. Lori told Stephanie she was crazy and to get her crazy self out of her building. Lori told Titus, oh I cannot stand her, but that's not my style. Carly believed Tori when she denied drugging Stephanie when she asked her if she did it. We believe Tori too. So who did it? Stephanie "ordered" Carly to stop seeing Tori. Sis, you know that ain't gonna work. Try another tactic. Carly stormed out. Poor girl she is right her momma doesn't accept her career choice or the person she loves. Carly, we are right here with you on your career choice. But on Tori? Hmmm. She ain't right. LOL.
Senior stopped taking his blood pressure medicine because that stuff messed with "his stuff" and could have interfered with him getting his groove all the way back with his "lady friend" (after you reach a certain age girlfriend is for the younger folks.) He had a TIA attack, mini-stroke. But praise the TV gawds Senior is fine and he got some meds that shouldn't mess with his "stuff". Carry on, Senior. Carry on, Senior. Junior (Evan) was like, "Hell yeah. I'm gonna be like my Pops still getting it in when I get older." Yes, but Mr. Mayor you might need to drop a few women along the way. An older heart can only take so much!
We were about to lose our minds when we saw Titus looking to see what Amara's password was for her computer. You shouldn't cross those types of lines. But then we realized that Titus was just trying to get some information on Damian because as Titus has said, he doesn't trust him. We were like yes, Titus go on ahead. We don't blame you because Damian, peeping Damian, is crazy. Unfortunately, the peeper saw Titus doing all of it. Does the peeper ever sleep??? The peeper was still clutching Amara's undies too!
