General Hospital's Dante and Lulu are headed for a divorce. Read more here --->
General Hospital's Lulu (Emme Rylan) is about to be completely blindsided again by the actions of her husband Dante.
She comes home to an unexpected surprise: divorce papers. Understandably, Lulu is in shock by the papers. In her mind, the only problems they had in their marriage were Dante needing help. She will struggle to make a decision whether or not to accept the divorce without any words with Dante or does she fight it?
Lulu will be surrounded by her family as she processes the blow. Her mother, Laura (Genie Francis) will simply offer her unwavering support. Sonny (Maurice Bernard) and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) who just found out that Dante was the one who shot Peter (Wes Ramsey) will have their own thoughts on the issue. Sonny understands what Dante is going through to some degree due to his own battle with mental health and knows that what he went through in Turkey was damaging. Shelly Altman says in the latest Soap Opera Digest that Sonny knows "this is not something that can necessarily be treated with simple blind belief." Olivia, on the other hand, will always be her son's number one supporter and doesn't want anyone to give up on Dante....or let him give up on them.
Everyone does believe that Dante, at least, feels like what he is doing is for the good of his loved ones. He doesn't want to hurt them or disrupt their lives. And for the future of the character of Lulu maybe a divorce is needed. Lulu has been in a sort of "limbo" since Dante has been away. She's been alone for a while now and needs something or someone to fill that void. We kind of saw them alluding to that recently while she was on one of her dates for her piece at The Invader. She seemed to be having a great time with Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) on their date after he decided to stick around after finding out the truth about why she was there. I certainly saw a spark between the two.
To quote Panic! at the Disco: "If you love me let me go." Altman does go on to say for the "Lante" fans: "The situation in which Lulu finds herself only illustrates how great the love between Dante and Lulu is, and the sacrifices people sometimes have to make for so great a love."
What do you think about the impending divorce? Should Lulu fight for her marriage? Or should she let him go and do what is best for her? Should she hit up Dustin Phillips for another date? Let us know!
