The Young and the Restless fans learned recently that Loren Lott (ex-Ana) would be leaving the soap. Now the actress has spoken out about her exit from the show.
In the latest Soap Opera Digest, Loren tells that she was surprised when she got the news that her time at YR was ending. "I just started a new storyline with Theo and Summer, and I definitely thought that was going to continue." She noted her excitement to be starting a new story outside of the normal bubble of characters that she interacted with. "...I was definitely excited for that storyline because it was different than any of the others that I had."
Loren also talks about how she found out about her impending departure. She had just finished wrapping her scenes for the day and got a call from her agent and team. They informed her that the show was thinking about ending her character's story. She later would receive a call from Executive Producer Anthony Morina. "He let me know that they didn't know where to take my storyline."
Lott then reached out to her YR castmates Bryton James (Devon) and Brytni Sarpy (Elena). "They were really, really sad. We've gotten extremely close. We're a family in real life."
Loren describes the feeling of not being a hundred percent sure that it was her last day on set until she finished her scenes and a voice came over the loud-speaker saying "Ladies and gentlemen, the wonderful Ms. Loren Lott," and everyone on set started to clap.
She said that she will look back on her time with YR fondly. "Overall, it was a blessing. I got so much from Y&R. I'm in so many magazines, I've gotten to hug so many fans, I got to go to Emmy parties and I got to kiss Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm)!" Loren also said that she would love to come back as Ana one day. And I know we all would love to see her back!
We at Soap Opera News wish Loren continued success and we can't wait to see her star shine bright!
