Hellooooo Family!
In Genoa City are we getting a quad? Looked like a couple shift. In L.A. we still got some really good soap. In Salem, we got some epic soap. And in Port Charles, we were happy to see Haley even if just for a little while. And we were sad to see Mr. Miller depart.
Recaps and Winners;
***We switched it up this week for our Honorable Mention.***
Young and the Restless
Kola's reception continued into the new week. Lola came face to face with her father who was trying to explain why he was there. We aren't sure why he picked her wedding to show up. But he did. It was too much for Lola understandably. She told him he could stay but she wasn't going to deal with him. Arturo came to the wedding. Lawd, Jason and his beard looked hawt. Theo crashed the wedding with Zoe. Kyle was upset. The two standouts from the wedding were Phyllis' Pelosi clap and when the single ladies played hot potato with the wedding bouquet. Summer is still very much in love with Kyle though we thought it was being written that she was moving on. We guess we were wrong. Billy overheard Michael and Adam talking in an otherwise empty Crimson Lights. He doesn't know exactly what is going on. But he knows something is. Lauren was pressuring Michael to tell her exactly what was going on between him and Adam and how Kevin was involved. The newly elected DA, Michael, assured Lauren he would tell her everything soon. Victor warned the newly elected DA that he'd better not be in cahoots with Adam. Word on the street is that Billy has DID. That's an interesting concept. The storyline has captured our attention. And we know Jason will slay it. So, let's see what you got YandR. The gum-chewing Billy isn't on board with the merger between Jabot and Abbott Exchange. He doesn't trust Ashley. Victoria is very concerned about Billy and shared her concerns with Jack.
Phyllis found out Chelsea had a windfall so Chelsea was the next person on the Phyllis trying to find an investor tour. Chelsea decided who needs Phyllis? She cut out the middle man and Chelsea and Abby are going into business together with the hotel. Abby was happy to cut Phyllis out after Victor told Abby she overheard Phyllis telling Adam she was going to double-cross Abby. Now we got Victor vs Phyllis. We will take it. Game on. But we didn't buy for one second Abby outsmarting Phyllis. Chelsea the con maybe. But Abby? Um, no. Adam asked Sharon to marry him. No roses, no ring, no one knee just a "Marry Me." Mkay. Adam put on a good case about their connection, how well they knew each other and how they were the only people that really got the other one. Sharon told Adam she couldn't fix him. He didn't really know her. He has this fantasy of her. She wasn't the same person she was when she was with him and didn't want to go back to being that person. She told him no. It wasn't a strong no. So we will see. Shick had nice scenes. We also had a Chelsea and Sharon confrontation of sorts about Nick and Adam. Is YandR setting up a quad? At the end of the week Kevin showed up and punched Michael and Chloe was at the police station.
Bold and the Beautiful
Flo tried to explain why she did what she did to Hope, asked for forgiveness and said she wanted the chance to prove to Hope that she could trust her again. Um, Flo really? Oh my, Hope gave it to her and gave it to her good! And threw in a slap! We loved it! Flo was arrested! Hope was ready to move toward her future. She met with Justin to discuss making sure her and Liam's legal rights to Beth were protected and to annul her marriage to Thomas. Hope was fearless regardless of how unstable Thomas was. Liam was much more cautious. But Hope was undeterred. She was ready to move on. She even called Thomas and told him, "Just giving you more courtesy of the truth than you ever gave me, I'm getting this farce of a marriage annulled." Brooke was worried about Thomas' mental state like Liam. She pressed Ridge that he should be concerned too. Brooke feared for the safety of Hope especially now that Hope was getting the marriage annulled. Ridge continued to be in la-la land where Thomas was concerned. Ridge basically chalked it up to Thomas going through a rough time. But he didn't think he was violent or would hurt Hope. Xander's thinking aligned with Brooke's and Liam's. He shared his beliefs that Thomas had something to do with Emma's death with the police. They reopened the case into Emma's death and were looking for Thomas.
Douglas wanted to know where his daddy was. Douglas needed assurance that his daddy wasn't mad at him for telling the truth. Everyone tried to reassure him. But like any kid would he wanted his daddy. Thomas was still in cra cra land going on about how Hope was his and he wasn't going to just give her up. "Hope you are mine. Hope is my wife 'Til death do us part." Thomas got nanny Amelia to bring Douglas to see him. Thomas was going nuts on the poor kid until Douglas told Thomas that he was his best friend. Those words reached something in Thomas (for a minute at least). Thomas broke down crying and hugged Douglas. Thomas was normal again. That is until Douglas told Thomas where Hope was. Then Thomas hopped back on the cra cra train and left his son to go after Hope who was at Steffy's. Ridge and Brooke headed there too. When Thomas got to Steffy's place, he like Flo had earlier in the week, tried to explain the inexplicable. Hope tried to leave and Thomas cornered Hope so she ran outside by the cliff. Why??? They know better! Thomas and Hope were fussing by the cliff! Brooke got there and got in between them! Thomas pushed Brooke to get her out of the way! Brooke pushed Thomas out of the way! That Brooke sure is strong! When she pushed Thomas out of the way he went over the cliff! Ridge saw it! If Thomas survives the fall it's gonna be tumor time!
Days
The week of the unmasking. Kristen vs Gabi. Gabi was the first to unmask Kristen. Why did Gabi turn her back on psycho Kristen? Kristen knocked Gabi out and was going to finish her off but Stefan saved her. Then Stefan turned his back on Kristen. She knocked him out. She had a convo with Stefano's picture and agreed not to kill his son. Strong woman Kristen dragged Stefan and Gabi both to the DiMera tunnels where Stabi eventually succumbed to their true feelings. Brady told Eric that he and "Nicole" were together. Eric didn't like it and Sarah didn't like that Eric didn't like it. Shin offered Kate the opportunity to come back and head DiMera and to come back into the DiMera fold. She declined his offer. Will it last? Tripp is crazy about Haley. Since when????
Jarlena were both surprised at their surprise party! So cute! Salem gathered to celebrate the thirty-third year anniversary of Jarlena's first wedding. ISA spy, John, was on his job at his own party. When his Marlena was speaking, his mind was racing putting all of the clues together, Rolf's mask, the mystery woman with the necklace, the true mastermind behind Ted/Kate's kidnapping, Ted's murder, Abe saying Nicole has been a different person, Marlena saying how Nicole went off on her, etc. Nicole is Kristen!! When Kristen, as NotNicole and Brady were trying to leave John, said not so fast. He grabbed NotNicole by the back of her head and pulled, and tugged until the wig and the mask came off. We just wanted to know was there a stocking cap inside the wig. We just wondered. OMG it was Kristen! Can we just say that was some fantastic soap!!! BRAVO! Everybody's expressions! We watched it several times just to watch from every angle. Soap perfection. We know Kristen never goes down without a fight. As soon as the opportunity presented itself she got the gun out of her purse and held Marlena at gunpoint. John and Brady both offered themselves up to take Marlena's place. But Kristen wasn't given up her prize possession. So it was up to Susan to save the day. And she did! Kristen didn't tie her up good enough. Two #days of epic soap so well done.
General Hospital
Dante is divorced and Lulu took off her wedding ring. Looks like the writers aren't wasting any time putting Lulu in Dustin's orbit on the regular. Hayden is being the sister Liz has been needing since forever. Hayden told Jax in order to keep Dr. O's mouth shut he needs to bat those beautiful baby blue eyes at her and keep her happy. NotDrew's kisses have Kim rethinking moving to New York. She didn't exactly say it. But we are saying it. Word continued to spread to the rest of Port Charles about the birth of NotDrew. We watched it a few times and we couldn't figure out how 1.5 million dollars from all those years ago (when Shiloh was selling fuel on the black market) ended up in Cam's car. But it did. Drew figured it out. He has the money and went on a humanitarian trip to Afghanistan to return the money. And he's also trying to track down Andre to bring him back to Port Charles to reverse the procedure on Franco. Two things; it appears that was Billy Miller's last episode. Terrible exit #GH. And good luck Mr. Miller and we can't wait to see what is next for you!
Back to the recap. Peter called someone and told them to make sure Drew didn't accomplish his mission of finding Andre. Yep, we found out that Peter was on Helena's payroll full time back in the day. In flashbacks, we saw that Shiloh has known about Peter's involvement all this time. However, now he is using this knowledge as leverage to force Peter to help him get out of jail. Oh, Peter, Robert told you if you stand his way in relation to building a case against Shiloh, he is going to get you. Believe him. Peter thought about coming clean to Maxie. But she told him she loved him and he decided not. But shouldn't that have made him come clean quicker. Sasha's guilty conscience was blabbing out and told Michael her sickness was karma. Probably but Finn got the results and couldn't believe what the medical term actually was. Ghost Kiki made an appearance. Hey Haley! Kiki recounted all of Ava's sins and told her Ava that Kiki would never be able to find peace. Sigh.
Performers of the Week!
Performer of the Week is Annika Noelle! (Hope, Bold and the Beautiful) The Bold actors are knocking it out of the park!!! Hope was something fierce last week. She glared and snarled at Flo and her weak excuses on why she had been lying all this time. Momma bear came at Flo with both barrels blazing. Through gritted teeth, Hope read Flo from top to bottom and started all over again. "Okay, Thomas threatened you. But what about before Thomas found out? Why didn't you tell me then? I will not forgive you not now! Not ever! You think you are a victim. He put a dead baby in my arms that's who you aligned yourself with!" SLAP! Hope met with Justin and was like I'm not scared of Thomas I'm getting my life back. Annul the marriage. And just in case anyone thought she didn't mean business, she called Thomas herself and let him know; I'm out of this faux marriage. After all those months of a depressed, crying and moping Hope we were so happy to see this fierce, fiery and unapologetic Hope who is ready to take control of her life. Annika and Hope did not come to play! This Bold Hope is one we can't wait to see more of. Annika if you recall you earned POW for your performances when Beth "died". And now you have come full circle with the culmination of this storyline and have earned POW as a woman going from hell and back and ready to live life again on her terms. Annika, you were amazing and thank you for taking us on this journey with Hope! Well done!
Our Honorable Mention of the Week is Arianne Zucker! (Nicole Walker, Days of our Lives).
We are doing something a little different this week for Honorable Mention. We are acknowledging and giving Arianne a big thank you for the awesome work she has done these last several months as Kristen masked as Nicole. We have thoroughly enjoyed her portrayal. We named the character "NotNicole." Arianne has been fun, humorous, believable, entertaining, on-point and an overall BOSS. What we have enjoyed more than anything is watching Arianne have so much fun. It was obvious she was enjoying it which made us enjoy it even more. I am a Nicole and Ericole STAN. But I was totally engaged and loving every second (even though it meant waiting for my Ericole) and Arianne was a big part of the reason why. She sold it, we bought it and ate it up. NotNicole went out in a blaze of glory! Her final performances at Jarlena's party were stellar. Her expressions as NotNicole interacted with Susan, John, Tony, Brady were soap comedic gold. And that little "jig" NotNicole did holding Susan at gunpoint, a soap meme forever! Thank you so much, Arianne! We can't wait to see what you and Nicole have in store for us next!
