DAYS' Time Jump: What Does This Mean For Your Favorites?!

It looks like someone has been talking to Eugene Bradford about his time machine again! 

Recently, it was revealed that Days of Our Lives is going to be doing something never heard of before in soaps. This, of course, got that soap rumor mill churning about what the big twist for Salem was. A time jump! 

Now, IF what we are getting is a time jump we can’t really say that this is a first in soaps. All My Children did a five-year-jump between the end of their network finale and the online version, and my beloved Guiding Light did a year jump for their finale. So, a time jump isn’t necessarily a never-been-done-before for the genre, but this jump would be slapped right in the middle of the show's storylines...therefore we can call it something new. 

The word is that Days will be jumping forward a year, and while browsing through soap twitter it’s easy to judge that most fans are conflicted by the move. But we think that this step into the future could be a positive one for the show and its characters. This gives the show an opportunity to get away from some of the stories that have been dragging or are just not working for everyone. It also gives us a chance to get brand new stories for our favorite characters without the task of waiting months and months to get there. The show will get the option to pick and choose which storylines we get flashbacks from as well. Let’s just hope that they keep them at a minimum...we all know how much Days loves their flashbacks. LOL.

With such a large jump forward there will obviously be some major changes for the characters and their stories. Will we see the birth of Sarah’s baby? Are there more shocking returns in our future? Will there be an Ericole wedding? Elani babies?! Surprising couplings?

Isn't it just exciting that we are left pondering all of the endless options?!

Our team had some wishes for what we’d like to see happen after the jump. We’d like to see one of our sacred Bope children, Ciara, truly come into her own as a woman. We want her to be killing it at Titan and maybe Theo can come back and be making his name at DiMera. What a glorious thing it could be for those two to be Days’ next generation of business rivals!

We’d also like to see the angst and the reconciliation of Steve and Kayla. It’s been way too long since they’ve been together onscreen and if anyone can bring the drama of longing for each other...it’s those two. Give us the 80’s feels of yearning that made this power couple a fan favorite in the first place!

Chad and Abigail are coming back soon. We’d like to see them have some juicy drama...that preferably doesn’t revolve around cheating. We’re crossing our fingers for the return of Brandon Barash as Stefan. Long live Stabi! Give us more shenanigans between Tony and Anna! Are we ever going to see Sami and EJ again?! There are just so many possibilities with this twist!
