One of my favorite things in this soap-filled world is a good dramatic, emotional or even comical wedding! So, when you, our lovely readers, selected the best soap opera weddings as this month’s Top 10 I was was ecstatic! Without further ado, here is your list of the best soap weddings!
Honorable Mentions:

12. Robert Scorpio & Anna Devane (General Hospital)
This adventurous duo’s 1991 wedding happened despite some dramatic interferences! As Anna was dancing with happiness in front of a mirror, she was shocked to see her nemesis, Cesar Faison show up. Robert sensed his bride-to-be was in danger and stopped him before anything could happen. Then when you thought things were smooth sailing from there…a brainwashed Dominique freaks out and pulls a gun on the attendees. Mac is able to talk her down and carry her away. Scorpio brothers 2, wedding crashers 0. We then were treated to an emotional and nervous Robert and Anna as they said their vows.

11. Jason Morgan & Sam McCall (General Hospital)
The Phoenix and The Dragon!
In what many would call the “perfect” wedding for this couple, Jason and Sam ditched plans for a more traditional wedding after becoming overwhelmed by the process. The two wore their signature black t-shirts and jeans as they said their vows at a Chinese restaurant.

10. Steve Andropoulos & Betsy Stewart (As The World Turns)
In 1984, these star-crossed lovers finally said “I do” after fighting so hard through adversity to find each other. This As The World Turns supercouple said their vows in front of family, friends and 20 million viewers around the world! Making their wedding one of the most-watched soap episodes in history. A list that a few of our other vote-getters are on as well.

9. Cruz Castillo & Eden Capwell (Santa Barbara)
One of my personal favorites! This Santa Barbara supercouple FINALLY tied the knot in 1988, after years of on-and-off-again relationship. These two clearly loved each other with everything they had, but could never get it right...until then! With a gorgeous setting at the Pebble Creek Inn, promised to always love each other and respect each other as individuals first and part of each other second.

8. Lucas Roberts & Samantha Brady (Days of Our Lives)
Despite these two’s troubled past and the presence of some unhappy guests...Looking at you Kate and EJ...Lucas and Sami pledged to love and honor each other all the days of their lives. This wedding stands out amongst the crowd for it’s “green” theme which included pesticide-free flowers and biodegradable favors. Also in attendance was organic chef and restauranteur Ben Ford.
7. Joshua Lewis & Reva Shayne (Guiding Light)
Growing up Guiding Light was MY soap. And Josh and Reva were MY first soap loves. Their 1989 wedding at the sacred Cross Creek will always stand out in the minds of soap lovers thanks to the beautiful scenery, numerous flashbacks of their story, and the love that was radiating from everyone in attendance. The words “Always, Bud” and “Always, Reva” will forever be remembered. And can I just say how STUNNING Kim Zimmer looked in that dress!
6. Frisco Jones & Felicia Cummings (General Hospital)
The singing cop and the Aztec princess certainly had their share of troubles and misunderstandings leading up to their 1986 wedding, but that didn’t stop them from making things official. The image of Frisco singing “Lady of My Heart” to Felicia as they dance is a sweet memory.

5. John Black & Marlena Evans (Days of Our Lives)
“My beloved is mine, and I am his until dawn breaks and the shadows fade.”
Out of all of this supercouple’s weddings...and there have been a few...this one in 1999 is perhaps the most beautiful. The venue, the dress, the vows. All of it was befitting for these two and their long-awaited reunion.

4. Luke Spencer & Laura Webber (General Hospital)
As arguably the most super supercouple, Luke and Laura’s nuptials in 1981 was one that fans had been dying to see. In fact, over 30 million people tuned into General Hospital to see these two walk down the aisle. Of course, with these two we had to have some drama mixed in. And we got that in the form of Scotty Baldwin as he threw Laura’s bouquet back at them and screamed: “There is no marriage!” I can’t help but laugh as Luke yells back “I’ll kill you” before a fight ensues.

3. Jack Deveraux & Jennifer Horton (Days of Our Lives)
In 1991, Days of Our Lives gave us a wedding that could only work for one couple. Jack and Jennifer. The two were absorbed into some hilarious wild west themed hijinks as they both worked through problems to get to the aisle. As Jennifer said, “Maybe it wasn’t supposed to be easy. Maybe that’s why we had to fight so hard.” That phrase still holds true for this couple today! Congratulations again to JnJ fans for the real Jack Deveraux being back!

2. Bo Brady & Hope Williams (Days of Our Lives)
An English adventure, a stolen horse, and “Holding Out For a Hero” playing in the background was all we expected and more for this iconic wedding! Bo and Hope were given the royal wedding treatment that left us weepy-eyed at just how perfect it was. From Bo singing to his Fancy Face to being arrested on their honeymoon. It was classic Bope!

1.Steve Johnson & Kayla Brady (Days of Our Lives)
I’ve always considered it practically impossible to choose between my love for Bope and Stayla, and so did all of you. The two were tied for the top spot with Stayla taking the honor after a tie-breaker pole! But with the wedding of Steve and Kayla being the most-watched episode of Days of Our Lives ever, it’s easy to see why they landed here!
In July of 1988, fans got to witness the beautiful wedding of reformed bad boy Steve and his sweetness, Kayla. Fans had been not-so-patiently waiting for years as these two fought through countless struggles and interferences to become husband and wife. Kayla who had just regained her hearing after an attack was still having trouble speaking. So, it came as an emotional surprise to Steve and the audience as Kayla started to whisper her vows out loud. If you are in need of a good cry just pop on this wedding and have at it. And just like Steve, we are thanking the “Big Dude upstairs” for this supercouple! We can’t wait to see what is in store next for them!
No Nikki and Victor?!? At least the first one...lol
