It has been a year since we said goodbye to Days of Our Lives' Peggy McCay. Read more here --->
It’s hard to believe, but it has been a year since the soap world lost one of its best and brightest in Peggy McCay.
McCay was known for her tenure on Days of Our Lives, but she had a spectacular career that spanned nearly seven decades! She had memorable roles on Maverick, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Perry Mason, Hawaiian Eye, The Young Marrieds, Gunsmoke, and The Trials of Rosie O’Neill. The latter where she earned a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
Peggy originated the role of Caroline, the iconic Days of Our Lives Brady family matriarch in 1983. A role that she would go on to play on-and-off for over three decades. McCay, who last appeared on the show in 2016, left fans feeling like they didn’t get to say goodbye to Mama Brady. Days was able to give fans a sweet and emotional tribute for her and Caroline in June of this year. McCay brought every ounce of talent and heart she had to her role. That is what makes her so special in the eyes of Days of Our Lives viewers, and its cast.
After her passing, at the age of 90, friends and fans joined together as one loving community to share their favorite moments from Peggy and her Days’ character over the years. Check out some of the beautiful tribute posts below:

Well Peggy, this is unexpected. The last time I saw you, you talked about how eager you were to get back to work. You said it with such conviction and longing. Don’t worry, you gave the world plenty. Gave your audiences inspired performances and your fellow actors your strength and inspiration and absolute love of the work. I will miss you sweet, Peggy. I am so grateful for the time I had with you . Sending love to your loved ones. Rest In Peace. #days #mamabradyforever

She will always be the heart and soul of the Brady family and I’m sure we will always be talking about her in the years to come. She lives on in Salem and in our hearts. #restinpeacetvmama❤️
