After almost 39 years, making his debut on December 2, 1980 , Tristan Rogers in finally in the General Hospital opening credits.
Avid viewers of the ABC daytime drama will remember that Rogers initial run on the show lasted from December 1980 to February 1992. He then return to the show due to the popularity which came as a result of his involvement with the monumentally popular "supercouple" Luke and Laura, whose 1981 wedding brought in 30 million viewers and remains the highest-rated hour in American soap opera history.
After his character's demise in 1992 when he left the show, Rogers made a brief return as Ghost in 1995 to offer comfort to his onscreen daughter, Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) who was dealing with loss of her boyfriend to an AIDS-related illness and herself being HIV-positive. Rogers continued to make short term returns to the show this time in January 2016 for six weeks where his character was revealed to be alive. He returned in April and left in November 2006.
Rogers continued to make returns over the years and his latest return in 2019 was on January 25. He has remained on the show since then on a recurring basis. And approaching his 39th anniversary with the show, he is in the opening credits for the first time - congratulations!
