William Wintersole, Actor on Young and Restless, General Hospital and Numerous TV Shows Dies at Age 88

Actor William Wintersole passed away at the age of 88 on Nov. 5th in Los Angeles from complications of cancer. He died peacefully at his home of over 40 years, his daughter announced.

Wintersole was a staple on two of the most popular soap operas, Young and the Restless for over 20 years as Mitchell Sherman and General Hospital as Mr. Ballintine in the 1980s. He did numerous commercials and was a character actor on TV shows such as I Dream of Jeannie,  Kojak, Little House on the Prairie, Quincy, Bonanza, Star Trek, The Fugitive and the movie, Seconds, with Rock Hudson.

He worked on many stages, TV shows, movies and on radio in his 60 year career.

William Wintersole was born on July 30, 1931 in Portsmouth, Ohio. He is survived by his life partner, Marlene Silverstein, daughters, Tiffany Harmon of Los Angeles and Katherine Ramsey of Ohio. He had three granddaughters, Kristy, Amy and Jill and 1 great granddaughter, Abby all residing in Ohio.
