Soap Operas have been known to tell important storylines bringing awareness to real-life issues and The Young and the Restless will be doing just that again. Sharon Case who assumes the role of Sharon Newman will be diagnosed with breast cancer as the show begins a vitally important storyline regarding the illness on January 9, 2020.
Viewers can look forward to a public service announcement (PSA) focusing on early detection from CBS Cares and the American Cancer Society with Case at the end of the episode tomorrow.
On-screen, Sharon tells Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) of her diagnosis. He then goes with her to an oncologist to learn more about the diagnosis and begin treatment. The storyline will welcome back an important family member as Sharon rallies on her family's support.
