Co-Executive Producer and Head Writer Josh Griffith promises “epic romance and high-stakes drama” for the residents of Genoa City during The Young and the Restless’ February sweeps! Take a peek at what drama is coming our way:
Family, friends, and foes alike will all come together for the Newman Enterprises’ 50th Anniversary gala as the show celebrates Victor Newman and Eric Braeden, who is celebrating his 40th year on the soap. “You never know what to expect at a Newman party and this night will be no different,” said Griffith in the latest Soap Opera Digest. The internal Newman family rivalry continues as a new business venture puts Adam and Nick at odds. While Adam and Chelsea have to come together as a united front to defend their relationship against doubters
Phyllis continues to fight her attraction to Nick as she focuses on her own business. “A dangerous secret will fall into her lap, putting her into a power position in Genoa City.” Sharon will receive a “tremendous” amount of support from her loved ones as she battles her cancer. While Rey is struggling to “find a balance of providing Sharon with the support she needs without taking away her independence.” Abby and Chance’s relationship will deepen after she sees his true commitment to her after she “suffers a major setback.”
Victoria begins to question Billy’s ability to parent their children as he continues to live life on the edge. And as Amanda’s past catches up to her, her bond with Billy continues to grow when a shocking event pushes them even closer together. Paul is forced to take charge “when Genoa City is rocked by a major crime affecting all the major players.” Jill works to keep Billy in line “with a new project that will also benefit her in the process.” Will Mariah and Tessa’s relationship overcome a “great strain” as Tessa’s focus is on her budding career?
Summer and Theo are “waiting in the wings” as scandalous secrets threaten the strength of Kyle and Lola’s marriage. Devon and Elena have to put their differences with Amanda aside when “they find themselves sharing common ground about an issue that hits close to home.” The Abbott family must come together when a crisis presents itself. However, “conflicts will arise when family members have different reactions to an issue at hand.”
