We love our soap opera veterans! They have been a mainstay and comfort to us for many years - some even have been around our entire lives. We thought it would be fun to celebrate all of our currently on-screen veterans who are celebrating 25 years or more in the daytime genre! This week we are counting down the amazing actors and actresses who debuted between 1995 and 1990.

Maura West - 1995
Maura West just hit her 25th anniversary this month! She started her daytime career on April 11, 1995, when she took on the role of Carly Tenney on the CBS soap As the World Turns. She would stay in the role until the show’s end in 2010. She then made a stop at The Young and the Restless before landing at ABC’s General Hospital, where she has played the vivacious vixen Ava Jerome since 2013. West has also racked up 3 Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actress for her work!
Lisa LoCicero - 1995
Today, Lisa is known for her role as Olivia Falconeri on General Hospital, who fans have been loving since 2008. But Lisa actually got her star on the ABC soap Loving and its spinoff The City in 1995 as Jocelyn Roberts Brown. LoCicero also starred as Sonia Toledo on One Life to Live in 1999 and 2004 before she ended up in Port Charles. In 2015, she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress at the Daytime Emmys.
Thorsten Kaye - 1995
Thorsten Kaye got his daytime start in 1995 as Patrick Thornhart on One Life to Live. From 2000 to 2003, he starred on ABC’s Port Charles before landing the role of Zach Slater on All My Children. In 2013, he took over the role of Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful where he is at today. Kaye’s work has garnered critical praise and earned him four Daytime Emmy nominations for Lead Actor.
Cynthia Watros - 1994
On November 29, 1994, Cynthia Watros made her debut as the iconic Annie Dutton on CBS’ Guiding Light. Her incredible performance in the role would garner her a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in 1998. After leaving Guiding Light, she would have roles on Another World and The Young and the Restless. In 2019, she took over the role of Nina Reeves on General Hospital where she continues to make the role her own.
Michelle Stafford - 1994
The powerhouse actress that is Michelle Stafford made her daytime debut as Y&R’s Phyllis Summers on October 17, 1994. Her portrayal of the villainess would lead to 2 Daytime Emmys and 3 Soap Opera Digest Awards. From 2013 to 2019, Stafford starred on ABC’s General Hospital before making the jump back to Genoa City
Joshua Morrow - 1994
Morrow made his debut as fan-favorite Nick Newman on June 21, 1994, on The Young and the Restless. His character’s storylines and position as a legacy child have made him a mainstay on the soap. Joshua has been nominated for 5 Daytime Emmys and won 2 Soap Opera Digest Awards.
Amelia Heinle - 1993
From 1993 - 1996, Ameilia portrayed Steffi Brewster on Loving and The City. She then starred as Mia Saunders on All My Children from 2001 to 2004 before landing in her most notable daytime role on The Young and the Restless. Amelia has played in the role of Victoria Newman since 2005. Her wonderful performance earned her back to back Daytime Emmys in 2014 and 2015.
Roger Howarth - 1992
Roger Howarth has certainly made the rounds in daytime, starring in five soaps to this date. He made his debut on Guiding Light in 1992 as Jory Andros. That same year he would start in a number of episodes of Loving before taking on the infamous role of Todd Manning on One Life to Live. In 1994, he won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor thanks to his work. He would star on the ABC soap off and on until 2012 but in between, he played Paul Ryan on As the World Turns from 2003 to 2010. In 2012, he made his way to Port Charles on General Hospital where he acts as Franco Baldwin.
Michael Easton - 1991
The man of many...many faces - like five alone on General Hospital! Michael Easton made his daytime debut as Tanner Scoffield on Days of Our Lives in 1991. In the early 2000s, he portrayed Caleb and Michael Morley on Port Charles before landing the role of John McBain on One Life to Live in 2003. He would stay in the role until the series ended in 2012 before transitioning over to General Hospital. There he currently plays Dr. Finn Hamilton and earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2018.
John J. York - 1991
John J. York stepped into the hearts of daytime viewers in 1991 as Mac Scorpio on General Hospital! His performance would prove so popular that he earned a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination for Outstanding Male Newcomer in 1992. He would take fan-favorite character over to All My Children and Port Charles on several occasions.
Laura Wright - 1991
This Emmy-winning actress made her daytime debut as Ally Rescott Bowman on ABC’s Loving and its spinoff The City. From 1997 to 2005, Wright played Cassie Winslow on Guiding Light. Since 2005, she has portrayed the beloved Carly Corinthos on General Hospital.
Heather Tom - 1990
On December 12, 1990, Heather Tom made her soap opera debut as Victoria Newman on The Young and the Restless. She was consecutively nominated for Outstanding Younger Actress at the Daytime Emmys from 1993 to 2000, winning in 1993 and 1999. Tom took on the role of Kelly Cramer on One Life to Live before landing at CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful in 2007. A role that would lead to 3 more Emmys! Tom has also expanded her reach in the daytime genre by directing several episodes of Bold and The Young and the Restless.
