Days of Our Lives
Marlena comforted Kristen as she convinced her to hand over the baby back to the nurse. Sarah stopped the wedding and revealed to Xander that she knew the truth. Heartbroken, he tried his best to explain his reasoning behind the betrayal. Brady was shocked to learn that his daughter was alive and rushed to tell Kristen the news. Sarah, who was not ready to give up Mickey, took off with her on the Kiriakis jet. Will and Sonny brought back up the conversation of having another baby. Eli and Lani were reinstated on the force. Just in time because Christian’s lawyer - who turned out to be his sister - was able to get him and Orpheus out on bail. Christian made a beeline to David, who was spending the day with Ciara and Ben and tried to tell him who his father was. While Orpheus made himself at home at Rafe’s. Unfortunately for Rafe, the ISA won’t allow him to be touched at the moment.
Hope is still struggling with her guilt as she remembered more of Gina’s heinous actions. Kayla’s story of their love was able to bring Steve’s memories back! Sadly, the happiness was fleeting as she had to fill him in on what had happened over the last year including Adrienne’s death, Stefano, and the fact that she had moved on with Justin. Marlena was freaked out hearing Orpheus was alive...and it got worse as he showed up on her doorstep. Sonny reconnected with Steve as they discussed Adrienne. Sonny also took the opportunity to share how his father and Kayla’s relationship was more than a rebound. Kayla struggled with her feelings of obligation to Justin and her love for Steve and sought out advice from Jennifer. While Jack worked to convince Steve to fight for the woman he loves. His speech may have worked if Justin hadn’t have filled Steve in on Stevano trying to kill Kayla.

Steve is back...and the Stayla fans rejoiced! We have been waiting for the moment that these two soulmates were reunited for real this time and they did not disappoint. In the hopes of bringing Steve’s memory back after surgery, Kayla told him the story of them. In a purely beautiful moment, Steve began repeating his vows along with her. There is a very short list of tv couples who have as much chemistry as Stephen and Mary Beth. When they are on screen together it is magic.
Steve and Kayla’s happy reunion was short-lived as Kayla told Steve about Adrienne’s death, Stevano, and her new relationship with Justin. Stephen did an incredible job portraying the myriad of emotions that Steve was experiencing. The heartbreak of losing his sister and the love of his life as well as the anger of Stefano’s invasive dirty deed. And can we just say how great it was to see the Johnson brothers reunited?!!
Mary Beth is an actress that doesn’t need a single word to express what she is feeling. Kayla is stuck in a horrible situation. She feels obligated to stay with Justin, who she genuinely cares about. But the pull to her true soulmate, Steve, is always there. The scene at the elevator when she chose to go home with Justin but you could see in her hesitation that she truly wanted to be with Steve was EVERYTHING! I am so excited for what’s to come with these two!
Our Honorable Mention goes to General Hospital’s Kathleen Gati!
Poor Liesl! As part of Robert’s plan to make Peter let his guard down, she is being extradited for her trial. She had one last chance to say goodbye to Maxie before being taken away. Liesl tried her best to convince Maxie of the truth to no avail. Kathleen’s performance as Liesl, a woman who can always find her way out of trouble, learned that she has seemingly lost her entire family due to Peter - with no power to stop it - was heart-wrenching!
