Days of Our Lives
Ben questioned why Jake had people coming after him...which has us wondering too because Jake made a call to a mystery person about the situation becoming out of hand. Kristen was able to find Sarah and Rachel before she could leave town. She was able to convince Sarah to do the right thing and hand over the child. Jake had another awkward run-in with Kate, who thought back about her conversation with Gabi. Steve, Kayla, Hope, and Justin put aside their issues to celebrate Adrienne on the anniversary of her death. Brady had a tearful goodbye with Kristen and Rachel when she told him that she couldn’t return to Salem in fear that she would be arrested. Sarah returned to Salem to forgive Maggie. Eric was angry to learn that Brady just let Kristen take off with the baby. Victor received a goodbye letter from Maggie.
Abby asked her family to get her help after trying to attack Kate during a hallucination. Gabi got Rolf to admit - kind of suspiciously - that he had brought Stefan back and he would help her bring his memory back if she got him out of prison. Ben and Ciara got engaged and shared the news with Hope, who decided to put her feelings aside for her daughter’s happiness. Lani thought about confessing to Rafe but Eli convinced her not to. Evan was found guilty and given 20 years in prison. Ben stopped Gabi from injecting Jake with Rolf’s mystery serum and brought the syringe to Marlena for testing. Zoey went to Rafe with the news that Orpheus had been the one to cause the accident that killed Adrienne and Mickey when he tried to kidnap Maggie for ransom. Orpheus revealed that he had, in turn, kidnapped John and Marlena was going to pay to get him back.

Brook Lynn decided to use her leverage over Julian to her advantage...not knowing that Nelle overheard them making their deal. Trina is still pushing blame on Jordan and Curtis for her father’s death. Sonny struggled with his decision on how to help Mike after his doctor suggested that they insert a feeding tube. A hungover Robert woke up at Laura’s apartment and received some comfort from his old friend. Laura talked with Valentin about starting fresh and becoming a better person. Nina told Jax that if her child is out there she will find her by herself.
Olivia found it hard to accept that Dustin seemed to be replacing Dante. Mac called out Chase when his work began to suffer. Maxie’s first Deception photoshoot started off chaotic prompting Nina and Lulu to give her reassurance that she was doing the right thing. Robert went to Anna about the questions surrounding Holly’s death causing her to be worried about his obsession with the issue. Martin was able to acquire a substantial amount of ELQ stock for Valentin. A struggling Sasha’s makeup artist slipped her drugs to help her get through the photoshoot. Nelle shocked everyone when she showed up late to the custody hearing...having just gotten married.
Our Performer of the Week is General Hospital’s Maurice Benard!
The decline of Mike has been heartbreaking to watch...and seeing how it is affecting Sonny even harder! This week Mike’s doctor suggested that it was time to insert a feeding tube because he wasn’t eating on his own - which caused Sonny to wonder what is the best decision for his father. Maurice has done a great job of making us feel the character’s range of emotions throughout the storyline. From his sadness to his frustration, it has been a masterful performance.
Our Honorable Mention is Days of Our Lives’ Stephen Nichols!
Steve finally got the opportunity to mourn the death of his sister, Adrienne, on the anniversary of her death. It hurt to watch him talk about how he wasn’t always the brother that she deserved. Stephen Nichols has always had this ability to bring this realness and raw emotion to his performance. And we felt that this week!
