Eva La Rue is queen! The actress won her first Daytime Emmy Award this evening at the awards ceremony.
La Rue first stepped into the soap world as Margot Collins on Sunset Beach in 1988. She received no nominations then. But, she went on to play the role of Maria Santos on All My Children. She did so on and off from 1993 - 2011. She earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in A Drama Series in 1997.
After almost a decade of being absent from the genre, La Rue returned to the soap world in 2019 playing the role of Celeste Rosales on The Young and the Restless for about 15 episodes. Though it was a short run, she earned a nomination in the category of Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series and won the award.
Being ecstatic about her first win, she wrote, "I just WON a Freakin” EMMY!!!!! Thank Youuuu @youngandrestlesscbs Sooooo much LOVE to Kaya, Christina, my family & Friends".
