The Young and the Restless actor, Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) is celebrating an incredible milestone. His character, Devon Hamilton is a fictional one from the original CBS daytime soap opera, The Young and the Restless. The character made his first onscreen appearance on June 1, 2004. The character was introduced as a homeless teenager who is taken in by the Winters family, the core African-American family within the series. Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) sympathizes with Devon because she too was a product of the foster care system. Drucilla and her husband Neil (Kristoff St. John) raised Devon along with their daughter Lily (Christel Khalil) and legally adopt him in 2006. His character was romantically involved with characters like; Hilary (ex-Mishael Morgan), Mariah (Camryn Grimes), Tyra Hamilton (ex-Eva Marcille), Roxanne, Elena (Brytni Sapry) and more.
James garnered much success and a huge fan base throughout his time on the show. He earned several award nominations including; Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series at the Daytime Emmys in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2013. He won the award in 2007. He also earned nominations in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2016 and 2019 and Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series at the NAACP Image Awards in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012.
