Should General Hospital Tell A COVID-19 Storyline? Read our thoughts here ---->>>
Recently, Grey's Anatomy’s Executive Producer Krista Vernoff revealed that the long-running drama would be tackling COVID-19. Even stating that “There’s no way to be a long-running medical show and not do the medical story of our lifetimes." And that got us thinking should General Hospital take on the pandemic as well?
While GH isn’t as medical-based as it used to be, the soap has been known to tackle an array of medical crises over the years. The tragic real-life events could serve as a storyline full of information and entertainment for the audience. Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) is an infectious disease specialist so this potential story would put him at the forefront, as well as other characters like Elizabeth, Lucas, Epiphany, Bobbie, Monica, and others.
While the storyline would put many characters who have been in the background to the front, we also understand that many people flock to the daytime drama genre for an escape from their real lives. So, involving their favorite characters in COVID-19 story would be the last thing they would want.
What say you? Should General Hospital or any soap, in general, do a COVID-19 storyline?
