The Young and the Restless' Jordi Vilasuso recently celebrated his 2 years anniversary as Rey Rosales but he is also celebrating 20 years in daytime soap operas.
Born in Miami Florida in 1981, Vilasuso kickstarted his daytime career at the age of 19 with the role of Tony Santos on Guiding Light on August 29, 2000. He stayed with the show until October 2003 and won the Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 2003. He was also nominated in the same category the previous year,
After venturing into a number of movies, he returned to soaps in December 2010 this time playing Griffin Castillo on All My Children. He stayed with the show until ABC canceled it and he moved on to the Prospect Park reboot in 2013.
After the cancelation of the reboot, he continued doing movies. But, he returned to soaps in 2016 when he took on the role of Dario Hernandez on Days of Our Lives. He remained on the show until 2017. He now plays the role of Rey on Y&R since 2018.
