Days of Our Lives alum Asher Morrissette is very sick and needs your help. Learn more here-->>
Days of Our Lives alum, Asher Morrissette (ex-Thomas DiMera) is set to undergo surgery. A fundraising page has been created to help the young actor. It reads:
Asher has had a high fever since the beginning of July, 2020. After a few weeks of monitoring and testing by his primary physician he was referred to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, TN. He has undergone many tests and blood panels and nobody has been able to attribute the fever to anything, and yet the fever persists at around 102 degrees all day, every day.
Asher's doctors do not seem to agree on which course of action is best. He is scheduled for an MRI of his brain to check for problems with his hypothalamus (which regulates body temperature). He would be sedated for this.
However, some of his doctors believe that environmental factors may be the cause of his ongoing illness and have recommended that the family immediately move back home to California as it is already known that the environment there does not have a negative impact on his health. This move would remove any allergens or environmental triggers that could be bothering him where they are at in Tennessee. Should that not alleviate the symptoms, an MRI can be scheduled at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles which has been recommended, as CHLA is one of the top children's hospitals in regards to fevers of unknown origin (FUO).
Asher's family would also like to explore holistic and functional medicine options as well as exploring a second opinion at CHLA.
They are in urgent need of funds to move out of their house as quickly as possible. They need approximately $6000 before 10/1/2020 to pay out their current lease and secure housing in Southern California. Any additional moving expense will be incurred by the family as they had already planned on moving in November.
From there, any funds raised will go towards co-pays, insurance premiums, and out-of-pocket expenses to see doctors who do not take insurance such as holistic and functional medicine practitioners.
Asher is a happy, kind, joyful child who is social and active. It has been so hard for everyone who knows him to see him feeling so terrible and unable to attend school and activities he would normally attend (even in light of the pandemic).
Asher has undergone:
more blood tests than we can count
CT Scan with contrast
He has been checked for tick-born illnesses including Lyme, Cat Scratch disease, a variety of fungi, any number of viruses and bacteria.
He has visited infectious disease specialists, rheumatologists, immunologists, and allergy specialists.
Their house has been checked for mold (present but the property management company will not treat the mold because it cannot yet be directly tied to Asher's illness).
