The Young and the Restless
Sharon received the heartbreaking news that they were not able to remove all of her cancer and it had unfortunately spread. Wanting to actually have control of something in her life at the moment she opted to continue to help Adam with his therapy despite her whole family being against the idea. Alyssa and Billy decide to team together to take down Adam. Nikki set up an escape room for an overworked Victoria. Chelsea filled in a concerned Chance about Adam after he came to warn her about Alyssa. This led to Chance tracking him down and telling Chelsea where she could find him. Adam finally did what he had to do and ended things with Chelsea for her own good. Lola got upset at Theo when he ditched their lunch plans for work. Summer and Noah got the opportunity to catch up with each other.
Devon decided to help Amanda with her DNA test which upset Elena, thinking that this could lead to the two becoming closer. Phyllis shared the news with Abby that she was able to officially buy her out at the Grand Phoenix. Hearing Abby’s excitement about no more drama made Chance offer her an out in their relationship knowing that trouble is ahead for him. Lily had a talk with Billy about systemic racism and how she wants their company to be the change. Rey discussed his fears of losing Sharon to Adam with Mariah as she turned to him once again.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Finn gave Steffy a moving speech about how he feels like she is using the pain pills to not only numb her physical pain but her emotional one as well. He offered her his full support in helping her heal and move as he turned down her request for one more refill. Hope ran to Liam with her concerns about Steffy...and the hot doctor that has taken an interest in her. While Shauna is enjoying her new life, Quinn puts another plan into motion when she sees Brooke asking Ridge to come back home. The plan, which involved Bill unknowingly showing up to ruin the conversation, seemed to work when Ridge stomped off mad at his appearance. Eric and Katie both offered Ridge words of wisdom as he battled his issues with Brooke and Shauna. Bill warned Quinn about involving him in her games. Though, it does look like it is working on him as well when he talks to Wyatt about how he is confused and loves both Brooke and Katie. Katie asked Eric if he ever thinks what could’ve been between him and Donna. Donna tried to broker peace between her sisters amidst the drama as the three sit down for lunch. Quinn’s latest scheme is to make Ridge and Shauna have another wedding in front of everyone this time.
Days of Our Lives
Abby surprised Chad with her return home only to get a surprise of her own with Gwen in her husband’s arms. She revealed that while her doctor advised against her leaving treatment she was ready to come home for good. Though, it wasn’t as easy of a welcoming as she planned when Jake advised her to talk to Chad about his relationship with Gwen. Chad did his best to explain the situation, both of them not knowing that Gwen had been the one to poison Abby all those months ago and that she is ready to do it again. Tripp told Steve that he isn’t returning to medical school because he wants to finish his degree in Salem. Hope’s loved ones gathered around her as she continued her search for Ciara. Ciara, on the other hand, was fighting for her life as she tried to escape Vincent, even injecting him with whatever drug he was going to use on her. Though, it was to no avail as the drug only made him believe she was Wendy for a time as he planned their exit from Salem.
Claire reconnected with Gwen as they discussed the boys that made them “crazy” with Claire admitting that she could never spend time with Tripp again. Only for her to run into him outside of the pub. Claire apologized for her previous actions again and Tripp told her that she didn’t have to do that. Belle and Philip decide to put the past behind them as they both are staying in Salem for a while. Xander and Philip, who are chomping at the bit for another fight with each other, decided to put their differences aside for the moment as they helped Victor deal with the Ciara incident. Marlena scolds Sami for her behavior and bringing Jan to town while their family is dealing with a crisis. Kayla told Marlena that they would have to bring John out of his coma even though he might not be ready yet.
Eli became upset with Lani when he overheard her talking to Kristen, mad that she would be risking their family’s happiness over someone like Kristen. Unknowingly to Lani, Eli showed up at Kristen’s room at the inn. The judge in the custody case removed the restraining order put on Eric and Nicole but rewarded Sami with custody. Shawn and Hope were able to figure out Vincent’s connection to Ben as they tracked down his location. Sadly, it looked to be too late as he got away when his car exploded...presumably with Ciara inside. The news of Ciara’s death began to spread among her family and town leaving them all heartbroken.
General Hospital
Alexis was shocked when she found out that Neil had died of an opioid overdose when the coroner discovered a puncture wound that they believe was self-injected. Julian, who ran into her at the hospital, made sure she got back home okay and found the needle underneath Alexis’ bed. Julian went to Valentin looking for Martin Grey so he could get a divorce from Nelle. Though, Valentin was happy to have Nelle still missing that way she couldn’t spill the secrets of Peter’s dirty deeds. Cyrus continued to make enemies of his hospital staff as he hired Britt to be the new chief of staff and had Liz and Epiphany’s hours severely reduced. Spinelli discussed his proof against Peter with Jason, who wants to get more evidence before making a move. Sam and Brando bonded a bit as she apologized for doubting him.
Olivia was heartbroken as Dante refused to see her at the clinic, leaving Robert to comfort her. Not one to back out on her promises Olivia still went with Robert to Holly’s memorial. While there Robert received a gargled phone call for help that he believed his from Holly. Olivia decides to follow him to Monte Carlo to track down whoever called him. Jason comforted Sam as she blamed herself for the chaos at the hospital. Jordan confronted Cyrus with her suspicions that he was involved with Neil’s death. He denied the accusation and warned her about her behavior. Portia and Ava were able to come to an understanding about Trina. Julian enlisted Ava’s help in trying to locate Nelle’s letter she left with Martin but they were unable to find it as it stays in his briefcase. Knowing about Cam and Trina’s kiss has caused some tension between the four friends.
Liz and Franco continued their plan to play along with Ava and Nikolas’ deception but when they each shared a kiss with the other their pictures were taken by someone. Jax and Nina were able to get a lead from the jewler on who purchased the necklaces. Stella returned to Port Charles to help Mike’s family say goodbye as his final days are upon them.
Our Performers of the Week are:
The Young and the Restless’ Sharon Case!
Sharon Case is just phenomenal! Throughout Sharon’s cancer storyline she has given constant emotional, A+ work. This week was no different as Sharon faced the upsetting news that her cancer had spread after they weren’t able to remove it all. Faced with the knowledge that no matter how hard she tried she wasn’t in control of this she opted to do something she could control...helping Adam. Sharon is a character that fans have bonded with on this soap...we’re invested in her life. So, to see her pushing her own wellbeing aside is hard to watch. I guess that is part of Case’s brilliance. She makes you root for her character even when you are screaming in frustration about the story she is in.
General Hospital’s Lisa LoCicero!
I’m calling it now! Lisa LoCicero will win an Emmy next year! She has always been a great actress but the caliber of performance that she has delivered over the last couple of weeks has just been incredible...and in our humble opinion unmatched! Olivia was left devastated when Dante refused to see her after she had traveled all that way to visit him. She pleaded with him through the door, leaving us reaching for the tissues! Even my own father, who doesn’t watch soaps, was in the room commenting on how great of a scene it was!
