Steve Burton is back in that role that made him a household name, 29 years ago. Burton returned to 'General Hospital' as Jason Morgan just a couple years ago but he first stepped into the role back on December 19, 1991. After staying on the show for a little over 2 decades, Burton exited the ABC daytime drama in 2012 and joined the cast of 'The Young and the Restless' as Dylan McAvoy.
Burton joined the cast of 'GH' on a contractual basis as a SORAS'd Jason Quartermaine in 1991. He stayed with the show until January 27, 2000, when he left to pursue other opportunities. Only a few months later, Burton returned for a six-week stint from August 25, 2000, until October 10, 2000. Burton since then has returned to the show on and off until making an exit in 2012 when he went on to 'Y&R'. He stayed at 'Y&R' for a few years but returned to 'GH' only a couple years ago.
Throughout his run on the show, he has been paired with several leading ladies for which his pairing with Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) also referred to as "Jasam" and "Liason" respectively has garnered the most attention by viewers. His friendship with Sonny (Maurice Benard), Carly (Laura Wright) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) has also gotten a lot of attention from fans. For his outstanding work, he earned 7 Daytime Emmy Award Nominations out of which he was declared a winner two times back in 1998 and in 2017 in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
