Can’t even take my makeup off in peace! 😂Is this what marriage will be like? 🤦🏽♀️He eats my beloved Truffle potato chips and leaves none for me, chases the dog around at 10p with his electric toothbrush while I’m trying to read and then comes in the bathroom and says I look like the Joker from Batman when I take my makeup off?! . . By the way! Monday I posted a highly requested night time skin routine on my IG story. If ya missed it, no worries, it’s on my highlights under “Skin Routine”. Annnndddd all the @tracyhudsonskincare products I use (and have used and loved for yearsss) are on sale right now! I’m talking $99 for FULL sized “starter kits” that are targeted for your specific skin type and concerns. Full freakin’ sized. I’m talking a cleanser, moisturizer and my holy grail sunscreen. In one kit. For $99. Insane. More info in today’s IG story.
My birthday, (the last one in my 20s woo-hoo!) is todayyyyyy 🎉 And in honor of said, “Holy crap, Presilah’s 30 in one year, that makes ME so old” birthday, I’d like to ask my familia, friends and followers (alliteration at its finest #nerdjoke) to help me raise money for an organization that I personally volunteer for and whose mission strikes close to home, Reading to Kids. . . Reading to Kids is a grassroots organization in LA whose purpose is to inspire underserved kids with a love of reading and improve reading/learning skills so that it may lead them to a more successful future. Many of the children that attend Reading to Kids are limited in their proficiency in English. They come from Spanish-speaking homes where neither parent or only one parent speaks limited English. As a granddaughter of immigrants from the Dominican Republic, who also weren’t English speakers and weren’t able to complete elementary schooling in their native country, literacy and proficiency in the English language is something I’m exceedingly passionate about. . . Get more info on how we serve these kids and set them up for a brighter future on my GoFundMe page! And please consider joining me in saying “peace out!” to my 20s by contributing-any and every bit helps 😊 Link is on my IG profile page ❤️

Heyyo! Happy 2020! 👋🏽 I know, I know...”Where have you been?!” Thanks for asking. I’ve been living life sans social media and it’s been great! I’m taking an unexpected social media break and I highly recommend it. Productivity ⬆️ Anxiety ⬇️. Don’t know when I’ll be back on the reg, but I wanted to jump on here quickly to share a few pics from our engagement shoot because they’re unreal and I found our photographer on IG, so figured I’d pay it forward and give her a proper IG shout-out 😉 . . It was important for Brett and me to take our pictures on his family’s farm on the Eastern shore of MD. So last summer I started searching on IG for Eastern shore photographers and low and behold I found Julia from @sincerelythekitchens. I could go on and on about how incredible she was, but I think these pics speak for themselves.

I heard somewhere, years ago, that you should marry the person with whom you can enjoyably spend a typical, uneventful Tuesday evening on the couch. Because extravagant vacations will come. And fancy dinners will happen. But those aren’t what marriage is made up of. It’s made up of the “regular”, mundane Tuesday evenings, with those wonderful vacays and dinners sprinkled in. So on a Thursday evening, exactly a year ago today, this man knelt in front of the couch and asked me to be his wife. And that was that. No frills. Just a wonderful, life-changing moment in the middle of “regular” life. And it was perfect. . . There’s a little more to the story and I’ve had so many of you ask about how Brett proposed, so I’ll indulge those of you who want to hear more details on my IG stories later today 😉

What a freakin’ whirlwind of a weekend. So many thoughts. So many emotions. So many words and yet I can’t even begin to explain how I feel. Because not only is @tylerperrystudios historical- being the first fully black owned studio (on land that was once a Confederate Army base). Not only is it larger than the Paramount, Warner Brothers and Disney studio lots COMBINED. And not only is it an astounding physical manifestation of a man’s dream that knew no bounds....but it’s also where I met my future husband (swipe left to see our first pic together one earrrllyyyy morning before taping at the OG TPS...4 years ago 😳😂). @tylerperrystudios is the genesis of our family’s history and it’s home.
