Amanda Baker Talks Black Lightning and Reuniting With Jacob Young For An Exciting New Project! Read More Here --->>
Soap Opera News got the opportunity to catch up with All My Children and General Hospital alum Amanda Baker about her exciting new project and the final season of The CW’s Black Lightning.
Baker shared that she recently reconnected with her All My Children co-star Jacob Young for an interesting new short-film, Prepare For Launch. “It’s a biopic about the real-life astronaut John S. Bull and his story of trying to go to the moon. I play his wife, Nancy. The trailer is going to be released on March 19. There’s not a release date yet but we are really excited about it because the goal of the short is to see it turned into a feature film.”
She shared that the reunion brought her right back to her times working with Young. “It was like really no time had passed. And even though we were playing different characters, we were playing a couple so we knew how to jump back into that. It was just really good to catch up with him about what we’ve been up to for the last several years.”
For the last couple of years, Amanda has portrayed reporter Rebecca Larsen on the superhero drama Black Lightning. She expressed her love of the show and the character, which she sees as the voice of truth in the series. “I was just welcomed by everyone,” she recalled. “I remember on my very first episode that Rebecca didn’t really have her own set and on my next episode they had created this whole new set for her. I thought that was so cool because it made me feel really special. Every time I’ve gone back I just feel more and more comfortable.”
Amanda was on her way to Atlanta to film a new episode of the series, which will air later this season, as we were speaking. The CW announced that sadly the show will be ending this year and she wanted to share a message with the fans of the program. “Thanks for watching and being fans over the last several seasons. I’m sure that there will be more to come from the franchise. I wouldn’t say goodbye to every that has to do with Black Lightning just yet.”
Thank you, Amanda!
