Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland, The Young and the Restless) celebrates a very special anniversary. Learn more here--->>
It's so sweet taking a walk down memory lane or should we say "Cassie" lane - as we look back on the day that sweet little Camryn Grimes made her debut as Cassie Johnson (Newman) on The Young and the Restless. She now portrays Cassie's twin sister Mariah Copeland, but Cassie is one character that we will never forget and we're sure other viewers never will too.
Today marks Grimes' 24th anniversary with the CBS daytime drama - having made her debut as Cassie on March 19, 1997.
Though she was not with the show for a number of years her absence was felt. When Grimes first appeared as Cassie on the show, she was only 6 years old. In her first episode, the prison matron brought Grace Turner [ex-Jennifer Gareis] the note that Mr. Becker wrote for her before he died that mentioned Alice. Tony and Grace went to the house at the address provided in the letter but learned Alice no longer lived there. On their departure, a school bus dropped off a little girl, who went into the very same house and it was none other than Cassie.
Through many ups and down Cassie was later reunited with her mother, Sharon (Sharon Case). Unfortunately, Cassie died on May 5, 2005. Nonetheless, Grimes made several appearances after as Cassie's ghost before she took on the role of Mariah Copeland which she's played since 2014.
