Our Performers of the Week are:
Days of Our Lives’ Marci Miller!
Marci Miller will honestly go down as one of the best actresses to grace the soap opera genre in my book. She brings such power, conviction, and ease to every performance. And she sells the hell out of the material! When Abby found out that Gwen was pregnant with Chad’s child we knew we were in for a show. She called her out for continuing to ruin her life and marriage. But what had us rooting for Abby the most was seeing Jack side with Gwen once again. The situation is very reminiscent of how Jack’s mother, Jo, would stand by him when he was doing all kinds of horrible things in the 80s. And while that is a good tie-in to the past, it is just frustrating as a viewer. We are solely Team Abby on this one.
The Bold and the Beautiful’s Matthew Atkinson!
Poor Thomas! We may not have been the biggest fans of Vinny but we understand how devastating a sudden loss can be. He also had to deal with a heartbreaking and confusing set of emotions. He lost a friend. A friend that had done some pretty terrible things. Matthew did a wonderful job at portraying Thomas’s shock and grief this week. Honestly, he had us reaching for the tissues. And like we mentioned… Vinny wasn’t our boy! Ha! Atkinson is a strong performer who brings a lot of depth to material that is often missing depth. We just want more for him and his character!
Chase fell ill after ingesting the poison meant for Finn at the restaurant. Peter tried to rattle Anna and Valentin with the knowledge that he had used a similar drug to the one that Faison had used to poison Tiffany Hill years before. Michael and Willow finally admitted their true feelings for each other and slept together. However, Willow’s plans for ending things with Chase were put on hold with him getting worse in the hospital. Britt took charge of her and Maxie’s plan to hide the baby from Peter, telling Maxie that she couldn’t know where the baby was going to be for her own safety. Jordan and Curtis continued to find out where they are now in their relationship, leading him to ask for a divorce. Taggert and Portia had an honest talk about their failed marriage and her affair with Curtis.
Jax went to Michael on Nina’s behalf about visitation with Wiley. Ned planned to propose to Olivia again to recommit her love but she was contemplating moving out after talking with Robert. Dante told Ned that he would have to do more than flashy gifts to win back Olivia’s trust. Sonny expressed his concerns about Elijah to Nina as the two grew closer. Sasha and Brando took their relationship to the next as they made love a la Titanic style. Joss tried in vain to hide her college problems from Carly. Ava told Nikolas she would stand by whatever decision he made about Cyrus. Martin worked to fix his relationship with Laura. Alexis tried to keep a low profile in prison. Anna and Valentin asked Carly to back off while they worked to take down Peter. Laura confronted Carly, asking her what would it take for her to release Florence before anyone got hurt.
The Young and the Restless
Wanting to put her focus on Sutton’s case, Amanda took a leave of absence from ChanceCom. Abby, Mariah, and friends gathered to celebrate the baby news. While Nina expressed her concerns to Ashley about how the surrogacy situation could affect Mariah and Devon in the future. Faith took a big step in her recovery after receiving her community service. She also stood up to Jordan, who came to apologize for her part in the catfishing incident, realizing that she needed better friends… friends like Moses. Elena and Nate found themselves at an impasse when she admitted her lingering feelings for him stops them from just being friends again. And he wasn't willing to get his heart broken again. Ashland backed out of his deal with Victor and went to Billy and Victoria, pitting them against each other for the deal. When they both refused the idea he instead made his decision via a coin toss that went to Victoria. And when she went to gloat to her father, he threatened her about crossing him when it came to business.
Summer and Kyle decided to set a wedding date but the happy occasion was marred by Kyle’s angst that Ashland was making a move against him and Jabot. A war started between Sally and Phyllis when Jack walked in on Sally threatening Phyllis, causing Jack to end things for good. Devon and Amanda reignited their romance. Adam went to Victor for help. Rey continued to look for Adam after he took off from his hiding spot, even getting a tip from Victoria about the possibility of him staying at the ranch. Rey and Victor were both on to Chelsea’s game as her quick recovery seemed a little too quick. Chelsea worked to keep Connor away from Adam by getting a restraining order. Though her plan hit a snag when Chloe walked away upset she had been taken advantage of. Rey and Sharon’s marriage imploded due to the lack of trust and honesty as he told her he would be moving out soon.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Wyatt was concerned when he walked in on Bill and Liam arguing. He left unsatisfied with Bill’s explanation about the tension in the room. Thomas struggled to comprehend Vinny’s death. He was upset when Deputy Chief Baker came to question him about the hit and run, believing that he could be a suspect. Liam continued to be haunted by the accident as he kept seeing Vinny’s ghost. Carter was frustrated by everyone asking him to give Zoe another chance. Zoe decided to put her animosity for Paris and Zende aside as she focused on proving her love for Carter. Quinn went to Carter to talk about Zoe but found herself opening up to him about her marriage woes.
Days of Our Lives
Xander found himself in quite a predicament when he woke up in bed with Chanel… and married. Paulina went to Eli for help when Chanel didn’t return home. They were able to track her down in Xander’s hotel room where they learned of her newfound marital status. Sami and Lucas also dealt with the fallout of their own hookup when Kristen revealed herself to Sami, threatening to tell EJ unless she helped her with Chloe. Nicole played cupid with Brady and Chloe when she set them up to talk about their feelings. Chloe took the opportunity to tell Brady that she still cared for him… and that he should end things with Kristen.
Any chance of a reconciliation between Abby and Gwen went out the window when Gwen revealed that she was pregnant with Chad’s baby. Jack continued to pick Gwen’s side over Abby’s as he offered to be with her no matter her decision about the pregnancy. Philip and Gabi went out on a date, which annoyed Kate and Jake. A desperate Ben attempted to inject Ciara with Rolf’s memory serum but was stopped by Theo. Shawn and John were both upset to hear about Belle’s deal with Jan. Jan worked to fix her friendship with Claire. Allie considered why her future might hold outside of motherhood. Belle’s missing jacket button was found by Rafe at the crime scene. John convinced Marlena to hypnotize him in the hopes of recalling what happened the night of Charlie’s murder and he remembered seeing someone in a red coat - similar to Belle’s - shoot Charlie.
