Our Performers of the Week are:
Days of Our Lives’ Martha Madison
Martha Madison is beautifully talented and we don’t often see her given the material to match her skills anymore. Yeah, we said it. Belle, whose life has been plagued with drama at the hands of Jan Spears, took the opportunity to get some things off her chest. In a wonderful and emotional set of scenes, she monologued her pain and anger to a comatose Jan. Wanting things to finally be over, she pulled the plug on Jan’s ventilator to ensure that she wasn’t faking her coma again. Thankfully, Shawn was there to cover up the crime by putting the plug back in and providing comfort in knowing that they could move on with their lives now.
The Young and the Restless’ Richard Burgi
We have so enjoyed having Richard Burgi’s Ashland Locke in Genoa City! He is mysterious, intelligent, powerful, and extremely charming. So, we were pleasantly surprised when we got the chance to see the softer side of Ashland this week. On their trip to New York, he revealed to Victoria that he only had six months to live. In a moving sequence, he expressed his heartbreak at not getting the chance to see Harrison grow up. Burgi has showcased his impressive acting range in a short period of time on the soap and we can’t wait to see what happens next. However, as we mentioned before, he is very mysterious. We have to wonder if his grim diagnosis is real… or just a ploy in a much larger game?!
