Performers of the Week: General Hospital’s Kirsten Storms (Maxie), Genie Francis (Laura), Jeff Kober (Cyrus)
What an incredible week we had in Port Charles! We had three outstanding performances that had us rushing to watch the show live every day… which to be honest, doesn’t happen very often. The first came from the lovely Kirsten Storms, who shined within the powerful scenes where Maxie confronted Peter over his lies, crimes, and how that led to their daughter being gone. We had been waiting for a long time to see Maxie unleash the animosity she had been holding onto and we were not disappointed.
In the latter half of the week, the audience was treated to a masterclass in acting at the hands of Genie Francis and Jeff Kober. We were on the edge of our seats as Laura traded her safety for Portia and Trina’s as she willingly stepped into Cyrus’ hostage situation. Laura attempted to appeal to the part of Cyrus that just wanted to be loved but his fears of going back to prison outweighed everything. Did she hate him for what he had done? Yes. But she didn’t want to see him be killed either. The two engaged in an intense, raw, and emotionally draining battle as she tried to get him to end the charade and turn himself in with her by his side. While we will never know if her pleas would have worked, we are sure that Genie and Jeff delivered some of the best scenes we have seen in years on General Hospital.
Days of Our Lives
Xander’s presence was a nuisance for the inhabitants of the Horton house, including Julie and Gwen, who engaged in an argument causing her to spill her purse filled with the drugs from Dr. Snyder. Rafe and Ava took their relationship to the next level as they slept together. Nicole denied Sami’s accusation that she slept with Xander, but Sami didn’t believe her. Kate, who is faking her amnesia and blindness, threatened to have Dr. Snyder fired if he revealed the truth of her condition. Gabi kicked Lucas out of the DiMera house after he guilted Jake into pretending he was still with Kate as she recovered. Belle was forced to change her plea at Trask's insistence. Ben, needing someone to talk to, reached out to Clyde when he felt like he was losing control of his life. Wanting to clear his head as he contemplated signing the divorce papers, he went back to the cabin where he had been with Ciara years before. He was shocked when the door was rigged by Jan to set a fire in the hopes of killing Claire. Thankfully, he was able to put it out and rescue her.
Paulina, who seems to have more sinister plans for the town square than anyone realizes, was upset when Abe revealed that the future tenants for her unified small business plan would not have to pay rent. Chanel heard about Abe’s small business initiative and decided to open up a bakery. She even secured Julie’s blessing to sell Alice Horton’s famous donuts and Allie as an employee. Jan made a deal with Philip that if he secured her money and way out of town she would hand over Chloe. Things went awry and Chloe was shot in the arm during a struggle over the gun. Philip retaliated by attacking Jan, which unsurprisingly put her back into a coma. Brady rushed to Chloe’s side and was met with animosity from Philip, who blamed him for putting Chloe in that situation thanks to Kristen.
Gladys made it through surgery and was able to make her statement to the police about seeing Peter getting rid of the gun used to kill Franco. Portia’s night went from bad to worse as Trina came home while Cyrus had her at gunpoint. The two were forced to doctor his wound. Curtis sought out advice from Laura about moving on and how he feared he ruined his chance with Portia. When they went to visit Portia they walked in on the hostage situation. Soon the house was surrounded by Jordan the PCPD. Laura offered to trade herself for Portia and Trina, attempting to persuade him to turn himself in with her by his side. It seemed like she was making headway until an impatient Curtis broke into the house, leading to him getting shot. Jordan burst in, wounding Cyrus, as they rushed Curtis to the hospital. Brook Lynn was able to locate Maxie and Louise, taking the baby as they planned. She called Michael and Willow, concocting a wild tale of how she had supposedly given birth. Valentin was quick to be by her side to meet his daughter, Bailey Lois Quartermaine.
Britt got a surprise visit from Liesl thanks to Jason. She revealed the truth of her Huntington’s test results to her mother. Carly was able to get Jason’s charges dropped and out of jail. Michael and Willow unknowingly had someone watching them through the window of the gatehouse as they made love. Anna told Jordan about Chase’s poisoning and Peter’s involvement after he announced that he had sold the Invader on his way out of town. Maxie was rushed to the hospital where she lied to Peter, telling him that Chloe had taken off with Louise after drugging her. When she mentioned that Chloe told her that this was Peter’s plan all along he became flustered, letting her catch him in a lie. She then called him out and shared that she had recorded their conversation, quickly sending it to Mac before he could stop her. Peter took off awaiting his helicopter out of town on the roof of the hospital. Finn found him on the roof and they argued. The fight turned to disaster when Peter flew down a flight of steps. Liz, who found them, couldn’t find a pulse and opted to leave Peter where he laid.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Finn and Steffy were overjoyed by the news that they were having a little boy. Bill showed up at the police station in the hopes of stopping Liam from confessing. Liam was able to trick him, telling him that they would leave before talking to Baker. He returned with Hope by his side as he confessed and took full responsibility for the accident and the cover-up. Hope confronted Bill and the two argued over who was at fault in the situation that would seemingly take Liam away from his family. Hope opened up to Brooke, revealing the truth about the accident. Bill, still desperate to get Liam out of the charges, went down to the station and told Baker that he was the one who covered up the crime. What he didn’t expect was that not only would he be taken into custody but Liam would not be released as well.
The Young and the Restless

Kyle and Tara began to fast-track his involvement in his newfound son’s life by telling the kid that he has two dads. Determined to make Kyle pay for the revelation, Ashland offered Tara a deal. He wouldn’t fight her for sole custody if she shut Kyle out of Harrison’s life. Summer was having a hard time adjusting to the new addition to her and Kyle’s world and sought out advice from Sharon and Jack. All the while, Sally was planting seeds about an incredible new job out of town in her mind. Victor and Adam worked to get Newman Media off the ground, including securing a deal to sponsor and provide a platform for New Hope. The move put Phyllis, Nikki, and Nick on alert for what Victor’s real plan was.
Chelsea was found not guilty by reason of insanity and would not be serving any jail time for her crimes. However, she had the rug pulled out from under her when Victor revealed that she would have to fully commit to her therapy during her stay or he would ensure she would not be leaving the facility. Adam and Victor were at odds on how to react to ChanceCom’s latest slam attack article about Newman Media.
