Fans were pleasantly surprised when “Days Of Our Lives” had Marlena Evans possessed by The Devil again [Possession 2.0]. After MarDevil caused havoc in Salem followed by Marlena’s loved ones saving her by performing an exorcism; fans thought that was it with The Devil’s shenanigans. However, fans were in for a treat yet again when it was revealed that The Devil had possessed Marlena’s grandson, Johnny DiMera.
After The Devil possessed Johnny, he broke up with Chanel which led her to seek comfort in Allie. The following week of January 17-21, fans just had to tune in to see how The Devil was going to effect EJ’s trial and the aftermath of Allie and Chanel’s one night stand. Fans were also treated to three favorites returning: Linsey Godfrey (Sarah), Patrika Darbo (Nancy), and Kevin Spirtas (Craig). So many different and interesting storylines happening at the same time tend to draw in more viewers and it shows in the hell raising ratings.
The week of January 17-21 “Days Of Our Lives” held
possession of 1.909 million viewers and gained 119,000 viewers from week to
week. Compared to the same week in 2021,
“Days Of Our Lives” was up 114,000 viewers.
The soap opera also had more viewers than ABC’s “GMA3: What You Need To
Know” which competes for the same time slot. This has been the show's highest rated week in eleven months.
