The Bold and the Beautiful has been popping with the recent character returns of Shelia Carter, Deacon Sharp, and Taylor Hayes! Things are heating up in LA!

Ever since Deacon was released from his latest stint in the pen and showed up on the doorsteps of Liam and Hope’s cabin (at Hope’s invitation who had been writing Deacon while he was in prison because she wants her father to be a part of her life) announcing “Daddy’s Home!”, we knew soapy drama lay ahead. And we have not been disappointed.

We all know Brooke and Deacon’s sordid and scandalous history. They had an affair when Deacon was married to Brooke’s daughter, Bridget, and Hope was conceived. Bi-coastal bad boy Deacon has stirred up trouble and women in LA and Genoa City (The Young and the Restless) alike. So needless to say, when Deacon comes to town he isn’t always necessarily welcomed with open arms.

This time was no different. Hope was pretty much the only one happy to see him. Everyone else wanted him gone. Brooke has pretty much been stuck in the middle wanting to support her daughter while also trying to keep her marriage intact as Deacon’s presence is causing tension and friction between her and hubby Ridge.

Let’s set this up. We all knew at some point Deacon would end up in Brooke’s bed, we just didn’t know how it would play out. Adversaries Shelia and Brooke have a run-in confrontation where Brooke threatens Shelia. Yeah, you can pretty much figure out how Shelia reacted to that. Not well. Shelia switched out non-alcoholic champagne for the real deal in a package delivered to Brooke’s New Year’s Eve celebration. Shelia wants recovering alcoholic Brooke to fall off the wagon and for her life to subsequently implode. Her plan worked as Brooke gleefully knocked back several glasses of the real deal praising how good it tasted and how much the faux stuff tasted real. Brooke shared some of it with fellow recovering alcoholic and party-goer Deacon. 

 Deacon returned to Brooke’s house later on to retrieve his phone he left and found Brooke looking like ten million bucks clad in a burgundy negligee waiting for her husband. Ridge had left town for work but was hustling and bustling to be back home and in Brooke’s arms when the clock struck midnight. While Deacon was there, Ridge called Brooke to tell her the plane was grounded and he most likely wouldn’t make it home for New Year’s Eve.

Deacon hears Brooke’s end of the conversation and invites himself to stay so neither of them will have to ring in the New Year alone. Brooke unknowingly already sauced decided to go for the gusto and took out a bottle of vodka and the party of two kicked into high gear. 

They laughed, shared and reminisced about the good ole days. Deacon told Brooke how he thought about them like this when he was in prison. Now Brooke might want to quote Jamie Foxx and “blame it on the alcohol” but she looked really happy sitting there talking, smiling and looking into Deacon’s eyes. Just saying. As a side note, Katherine Kelly Lang and Sean Kanan have insane chemistry! 

One thing led to another and the two kiss (with a minor looking on…OMG!) The morning after Brooke wakes up with a hangover, Deacon lying beside her in her bed, and a text from Ridge saying he would be home soon. Brooke wastes no time getting Deacon out of there. 

When alone Brooke tries to process what happened. She has been living around liquor with no temptation for a long time. Why was last night any different? Why did she drink? Could she really keep the secret from Ridge, that she “slept” with Deacon? How would he react if he found out? Would she lose him forever?

Good questions Brooke and we have our own. Do we know for sure if Brooke and Deacon actually had sex? Or did they pass out before? Does Brooke know for sure? Does Deacon? How will it all play out? And of course, what in the world will Shelia do next?!

We will be watching to find out!
