Military Vet Chris Van Etten Returns To General Hospital! Learn More Here>>>
Real life United States Marine Corp veteran, Chris Van Etten, has returned to General Hospital as Chet Driscoll!!!
Longtime viewers will remember Chet as nurse Amy Driscoll's brother who debuted in November of 2017. He was a disabled military veteran who ended up at GH after he overdosed on pain killers as a result of his service induced PTSD after losing both legs in the war.
He reappeared in 2018 and 2019, at one point asking out Maxie Jones who turned him down because she had feelings for Peter!
We haven't seen him since 2019 until today when he showed up at the hospital with his sister, soliciting donations for the veteran's charity he works with. After leaving the hospital he went to Charlie's bar where Terry, played by Cassandra James, mistook him for her blind date!
In real life Van Etten who shares a name with but is not the same person as GH Co - Head Writer Chris Van Etten, enlisted in the USMC in 2009. He was sent to Afghanistan in 2012 and three months after getting there was injured in an I.E.D. explosion. His injuries resulted in the loss of both of his legs and he suffered from PTSD. He became an actor and also modeled for Jockey.
We don't know what's ahead for Chet and Terry on General Hospital but welcome back Chris!
