Wes Ramsey Exits General Hospital! Learn More Here >>>
Soap Opera News has learned that Wes Ramsey, who plays Peter August, is no longer on contract and has exited General Hospital as of February 23rd.
Ramsey joined the soap in November of 2017. He came on as Peter August, the man Drew Cain hired to be COO of Aurora Media. It was later revealed that he was actually Henrik Faison, son of Cesar Faison and Alex Devane. He was thought to be a good guy until his true identity and nature was revealed. Peter met and fell in love with Maxie Jones and wanted to be redeemed to be worthy of her but unfortunately, his deviousness could not be conquered by love and he reverted to his true self, terrorizing the town on Port Charles once again.
We all thought he had been killed by Finn in the summer of 2021 but he was soon revealed to be alive and still on the warpath to punish those he felt had betrayed him and to be reunited with Maxie and their daughter, no matter the cost.
Wes Ramsey took to Instagram on the 23rd to say goodbye to his General Hospital colleagues and fans. He posted a picture along with the caption," Thank you for taking the journey with me. To those who were kind & supportive, my heart has felt inspired by you. To my friends & family (& the fans everywhere), it has been an honor to give everything I had to this & I will never forget how fun it was to entertain you. To the cast & crew, thank you for welcoming me into your world & for giving me a chance to play with you each day. To the writers, producers & directors, thank you for trusting me with all we did together. It was one helluva ride...#GH #peteraugust #actorslife #mydreamscametrue".
Soap fans know that death is not always permanent on a soap opera and being Faison's son certainly ups Peter's chances of a resurrection down the line, but for now at least, Peter's story came to an explosive conclusion on February 23rd on General Hospital!
