On The Young & The Restless this past week, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) visits his deceased son’s (Keemo) home in Los Angeles after a string of mysterious texts lead him there to learn more about him. While at the house, Jack finds letters that Keemo wrote to him, but never sent that said he forgave his father. Jack is grieving the loss of his son, but is also remorseful that he never really got to know him. Bergman had to master many monologues to display Jack’s grief, remorse, and guilt. Bergman continues to show he’s the king of monologues as he took fans on Jack’s emotional journey as he went through the letters, photos, and some of his belongings. Bergman’s cadence in his voice matches with his tears were spot on of a grieving father who not only lost his son, but was also mourning what could have been. Fans heart strings were tugged on when Jack found a necklace that he gave Keemo’s mother and flashbacks were shown of that moment as well as their wedding day. Throughout Jack’s emotional journey, Phyllis offered to give him space and Bergman perfectly captured Jack’s desperate plea through his voice to not be alone as he convinced her to not leave his side. When Jack finds a picture of Allie with her number on it and calls her to ask her questions, Bergman displays Jack’s anxiety as he awaits her arrival followed by his nervousness when he introduces himself to her when she does arrive. Fans can’t wait to see what happens next and they know Bergman will continue to knock his scenes out of the park. Bergman definitely has material to submit for a Daytime Emmy reel!
