Christian LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R) shares home renovation news! Click here to learn more--->>
Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin, The Young & The Restless) and his husband, Sid Montz have a home in New Orleans that they owned for the past 8 years. It was unfortunately destroyed during Hurricane Ida that hit in August-September 2021. During that time, LeBlanc was quarantining in California, staying in hotels, rentals, and a condo while filming for the soap opera. Meanwhile, Montz was in New Orleans living in an Airstream “Bambi” in the backyard of their home while it’s being worked on. They had just completed a multi-year renovation on their Garden District home just months before Ida hit. LeBlanc returned to New Orleans during Mardi Gras to help lighten Montz’ workload on their home renovation. New Orleans will always be home for LeBlanc. While the couple have plenty to be upset about, they realize they are luckier than most. The worst part of this whole ordeal was that LeBlanc was not able to be with Montz when the hurricane hit due to filming so Montz was left to do a lot of the heavy lifting such as debris removal while the whole city had no electricity. While the renovations are taking time, the couple is keeping their focus on what the end results will look like once everything is completed.
Montz is a secular Buddhist monk and art director which has helped him tremendously in finding joy and calmness amongst the chaos. He has put up colorful notes with uplifting Buddhist messages that the work crew working on their home have learned to respect silence and stillness. Once their home is complete, the couple plan on transforming the carriage house into an art studio for LeBlanc and the stable into a yoga and meditation studio for Montz.
Fans can catch LeBlanc in the off-Broadway play “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof” as Big Daddy at the St. Clements Theater in New York City from July 15-August 14. The play was originally expected to run earlier this year, but was pushed back due to the Omicron outbreak.
