Congrats to Robert Newman (Ashland, Y&R) & Amelia Heinle (Victoria,Y&R) who were selected as the performers of the week! Click here to learn more--->>
On this past week of The Young and The Restless, Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) continued to play their game of cat and mouse. Victoria never thought that Ashland would take a money bribe in order to leave her, the company, and Genoa City for good, but when he contemplates Adam’s offer, she is stunned. The scenes in the Grand Phoenix hotel suite were standout performances for both Newman and Heinle as both the characters and the fans have to wonder: who is really playing who? Victoria admits that she does believe that Ashland has been playing her the whole time, but when Ashland mentions despite their beginnings, he’s in love with her and wants to start over, fans can sense that Victoria still has feelings for him. Or does she? Is it part of her plan to trick Ashland? Does Ashland genuinely love Victoria or is it part of a revenge plan? The fact that there is no black and white answer to any of these questions goes to show how brilliantly Newman and Heinle are at showing the complexities of their characters and the relationship between the characters. With the longing and pleading look between them, there’s no denying that Ashland and Victoria loved each other, but is the love genuinely still there? Will greed, power, control, and money trump love? Or have there been too many lies and power plays for this couple to survive? However this turns out, fans can’t wait to see what happens next, especially knowing that Newman and Heinle will continue to deliver!
