Congrats to Emily O'Brien (Gwen, Days of Our Lives) who was selected as the performer of the week! Click here to learn more--->>
On this past week’s episodes of Days of our Lives, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) had emotional conversations with her family and Xander at the police station. On numerous occasions, O’Brien’s sunken eyes that showed emptiness displayed that Gwen was numb as she feels like she lost everything. While Gwen has done terrible things, all she ever wanted was love and to feel loved. She wanted a relationship with her father and she feared she was going to lose her fiancé to his ex. O’Brien gives depth to Gwen and is able to show her many layers and shows what motivates Gwen to do the things the does, however greatly misguided. Although she has given her loved ones every reason to doubt her, she is hurt to see that her father and Xander (Paul Telfer) have lost all trust in her. Xander visits Gwen and asks her if she still has the antidote that can save Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). When Gwen says she does, Xander asks what he has to do to get it. O’Brien shows how deeply that question hurts Gwen. In a last-ditch effort, Gwen asks Xander to take her back in exchange for the antidote and O’Brien’s quiver in her voice when Gwen asks, “Deal?” is heart breaking. Gwen does tell Xander where it is and she’s processing how she’s continuing to lose him further. Later on, Abigail (Marci Miller) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) demand answers in regard to how Jennifer’s mother died. Jack (Matthew Ashford) is floored to hear that Gwen told Abigail that she murdered her grandmother. However, Gwen denies the claim and says she only said it to hurt her sister since she felt betrayed. O’Brien’s brilliant performance makes the fans (and characters) wonder: did Gwen really commit murder or not? Later on, Gwen asks Jack if he can ever forgive her. When O’Brien reaches out for Jack to take hold of Gwen’s hand as a sign that there is hope for them to make amends and he doesn’t take her hand, O’Brien shows how shattered Gwen feels in her eyes and facial expressions. Bravo to O’Brien for her powerful performances this week!
