Eileen Davidson is celebrating her 40th anniversary as Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless.
Davidson originated the role of Ashley Abbott on June 11, 1982, until her first exit on December 2, 1988. The role was immediately recast with Brenda Epperson, who portrayed Ashley for seven years from December 5, 1988, before leaving the role on December 21, 1995. Shari Shattuck then assumed the role from March 21, 1996, to February 22, 1999, with Davidson returning on March 19, 1999. She has been in the role since.
Davidson has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the Daytime Emmy Awards in 1998, 2003, 2014 and 2018 for her work on Y&R and Days of Our Lives. She won the award for Days in 2014 and for Y&R in 2018.
