Performer of the Week: Days of Our Lives’ Sal Stowers!

In last week’s Days of Our Lives, Lani Price (Sal Stowers) was haunted by the ghost of her biological father, TR Coates (William Christian). Lani has been riddled with guilt ever since she murdered TR and her mother, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) took the fall for her.  Stowers did a phenomenal job at showing just how much the guilt was eating away at Lani as she saw visions of TR. Seeing TR stirred up feelings of fear as well.  Lani was so startled and concerned that she kept seeing him everywhere to the point that she almost didn’t let her brother, Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) into her apartment as she still believed she was seeing TR instead of Theo.  At Paulina and Abe Carver’s (James Reynolds) wedding, Lani couldn’t take it anymore and she confessed to TR’s murder in front of her family and friends. Stowers’ powerful performance moved fans as Lani cried out the truth; she shook in fear and pain, but ultimately let out a brief sigh of relief that the secret was out. Lani didn’t want her mother to go to prison for her. However, both Lani and her husband, Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) fear that Lani will go to prison for the crime and not be able to raise their children together. Paulina gave Lani up at birth to keep her safe from TR and was ready to make another sacrifice for her daughter, but Lani couldn’t stand the thought of lying for the rest of her life while her mother paid for her crime.  Stowers hit every beat of this storyline and it pains fans knowing she’ll be departing from the soap soon. Bravo Stowers on yet another captivating performance!   

Days Of Our Lives

Eric overhears that Nicole called off the wedding to Rafe and wonders if it’s at all because of him.  He’s disappointed to find out it was only postponed so that Rafe can focus on Abigail’s murder case.  Kate presses Nicole for information in front of Eric and Roman, she wonders if she and Eric still have feelings for each other and that if they do, would Nicole call off her engagement to Rafe?

Paulina and Abe decide to get married on Juneteenth.  Lani, Eli, Julie, Big Mamma, Theo, Chanel, Allie, Johnny, Eric, Nicole, Roman and Kate are in attendance.  After being haunted by TR’s ghost, Lani confesses to TR’s murder at the wedding and Johnny catches the confession on camera as he was video taping the wedding.  Understanding that Lani killed TR in defense of Paulina and Abe, all the guests at the wedding promise to not tell the truth.  However, Lani decides to bring herself in to the police and asks that Eli escort her there.  At the station, Eli makes one final plea to leave and don’t turn back as he’s afraid that Lani will go to prison for years for what she did.   Johnny and Allie try to comfort Chanel after Lani’s confession.  

Ava recalls doing Gwen a favor and making it possible for Gwen to escape prison so she wonders if Gwen escaped in order to murder Abigail and sneak back in.  Gwen swears she didn’t.  Ava can’t tell if she’s telling the truth and warns Gwen to never ask her for a favor again.

Sarah mistakes Nicole for Kristen and attacks her.  Xander intervenes and explains to Nicole and Eric that Sarah has been hallucinating.  Sarah and Xander hear of Abigail’s murder.  Sarah mentions that Gwen would have motive, but Xander states that Gwen couldn’t have done it since she’s in prison.

Brady spots Lucas at an AA meeting and confronts him for ditching the meeting early.  Brady assumes that Lucas fell off the wagon after learning about Abigail’s murder.  Lucas learns that jewelry was stolen from the DiMera’s the night of the murder and searches his hotel room for it to see if he was there the night of his bender and the murder.

Leo tries to ditch the jewelry and tries to sell it to Clyde.  Clyde calls him out for the jewels being stolen.  They come up with a plan and a deal to sell them, but Clyde is now in control of the situation.  Clyde gives one of the pieces to Nancy.  

Belle tells Chloe that she almost slept with EJ.  EJ consoles Chad and convinces him it’s time to tell his kids about Abigail. 

Jan convinces Shawn to have the warden agree to her staying in the hospital a bit longer since their son was born prematurely.  Ciara and Ben visit and find out that Jan named the boy after Shawn and she asks to hold baby Bo.  They allow her to for a moment. When Belle learns how Jan manipulated Shawn and he fell for it, it drives her back into EJ’s arms.

Bonnie and Victor bond over their hate for Jan and Clyde.  

Lucas proposes to Sami; she declines since she’s still legally married to EJ.    

The Young & The Restless

Nikki wants Michael to find dirt on Diane, but he declines as he believes Diane has reformed.  Diane asks Kyle to help her get a job so she can provide for herself.  Even though she worked in real estate, architect is her passion. 

Summer, Amanda, and Tracy band together as they are Team Phyllis and wonder how she and Diane can co-exist.  Lauren warns Summer that one day she might have to choose between Kyle and her mother.

Imani causes more friction between Nate and Devon at the office.

Billy catches up with Jill about Ashland and Victoria, the podcast, and how things are going at work. 

Phyllis returns to town and disguises herself so she can spy.  She overhears Diane bad mouthing her to Jack.  Phyllis later overhears Diane and Michael talking.  Michael catches Phyllis and pleads with her to not continue her feud with Diane. Phyllis tells Summer about it and Summer suggests that Phyllis should extend an olive branch to Diane.  She does.  Afterward, Phyllis asks to meet with Jack.  Diane fills in Jack and Kyle about the truce, but she questions Phyllis’ motives.  Kyle suggests to Summer that they should hire Diane at the company and Summer isn’t thrilled.    

Chelsea and Chloe feud over business as Chloe is feeling the pressure of deadlines and worries that Chelsea can’t meet the demands of the job as her grief over Rey is distracting her.  Gloria has to play referee.  Later on, Billy is surprised to hear how much Rey’s death has effected Chelsea.

Summer convinces Kyle to be the CEO of Marchetti.  Lauren is intrigued.  Jack is disappointed that Kyle will no longer work by his side, but understands the decision.  Kyle shares the news with Diane.

Adam lets Victor know that he knows that Victor is using him to get to Victoria. However, he intends on impressing his father so he can remain CEO of the family company.  Victor asks Michael to track down Ashland and Victoria. Lily is worried about Billy even after overhearing him leave a voicemail for Victoria that he will butt out of her life like she asked.  Victoria watches the press release of the news announcement of Adam being named the new CEO.  It motivates her to want to start her new company with Ashland and she suggests they invest their own money, Ashland hesitates.  Victor learns that that they are looking to make a competing company.  

Imani shares with Amanda that their mother had a stroke and convinces her to take some time to spend with their mother.  Elena lands a speaking gig in Hawaii and asks Devon if Nate can take time from work to go with her.  Nate is offended that Elena asked Devon before discussing it with him.  If Nate doesn’t join Elena, Imani would have time to spend with Nate without Elena or Amanda to interfere.

The Bold & The Beautiful

Li tries to escape and call the police, but Sheila catches her and confronts her.  Sheila makes it known that she initially trusted her and is devastated that Li was going to double cross her and that she won’t let her leave.  They fight and Li does run off.  Li gets in her car and Sheila chases after her in another car, ultimately running her off the road into the water and the car is in flames. 

Liam is shocked to hear from Hope that Donna and Eric are having an affair.  Ridge fills in Hope and Liam about Sheila’s escape from prison.  Ridge later checks in on Brooke to make sure she’s okay.

Quinn makes one final plea to Carter to not settle for Paris.  He decides he can’t pine after Quinn anymore and will try his best to make things work out with Paris.  He does propose to her and while initially shocked, she accepts.  Grace is livid at the news and tries to convince Paris to walk away from Carter.  She doesn’t trust the proposal is genuine.  Hope is also shocked by the news, but wants to support her friend.  Ridge confronts Carter about his true feelings for Quinn and is intentions of his engagement with Paris.  Carter confides in Ridge and still expects him to be there for him at the wedding, which he wants to happen right away.  Grace pleads with Zende to try to stop the wedding.

Quinn is concerned about Carter and confides in Wyatt about the situation.  Quinn claims she’s still devoted to Eric.  Quinn fills in Eric about Carter and Paris.  Carter later tells Quinn that he did propose to Paris and plans on getting married the next day.   

General Hospital

Victor agrees to helping Spencer locate Esme’s biological parents, not knowing why Spencer wants to track them down.

Laura tells Martin she thinks Victor was behind the hit on them and plans on getting Victor deported.  Alexis calls Laura to warn her that someone is rallying to have her recalled from being the mayor of Port Charles.  Laura’s loved ones rally together to come up with a plan to help Laura.  Clues led back to Cyrus who denies he has anything to do with it.  Laura forgives Cyrus.   

Esme asks Kevin a lot of questions about Ryan, claiming it’s for a psychology course at school.  Kevin is suspicious and warns her to stay away from Ryan.

Mac is upset to learn that Felicia confronted Ryan at the hospital.  When Kevin learns that Esme was at the hospital with Ryan, he has Esme banned from visiting Ryan at Spring Ridge.  Esme is furious. 

Portia, Taggert, and Curtis are shocked that Trina and Joss risked themselves for a lead in Trina’s case.  While upset because they’re afraid and concerned, Portia is hopeful that there might be a new lead.  

Scott proposes to Liesel, but she declines.  She’s happy in their relationship the way it is and doesn’t need nor want to make it legally binding. 

The vote to remove Valentin from ELQ is called; Drew and Michael are certain things will go their way.  However, they are stunned to see that Ned and Lucy vote in favor of Valentin which keeps him as the head CEO of the company.  Willow faints.

Cody is more interested in Britt when he learns that she’s Faison’s daughter.

Linc wants Chase fired from the PCPD.

Carly tells Olivia that she sold her half of the hotel in order to buy the stocks in Aurora to help Drew and Michael.  Olivia is shocked and Carly tries to calm her down by reassuring her that things will be fine when the ELQ-Aurora merger happens.  Valentin breaks the bad news to Carly.
