On last week’s General Hospital, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) revealed to Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) that he believes Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) is innocent in regard to the revenge porn video. Not only does he believe Trina is innocent, but he also thinks Esme is the guilty party. In an attempt to get Esme to come clean, Spencer lies to her that he has tracked down her birth mother and provides a DNA test as proof. Fans have been waiting for Spencer to confront Esme about the revenge porn video and framing Trina and the scenes did not disappoint. Chavez’s brilliant performance showcased Spencer’s anger, frustration, and disgust with Esme and her actions. Chavez played the beats of the story and emotion perfectly as Spencer described he so badly wanted to believe in Esme and that at one point in time he had feelings for her, but how all of that changed when she went after Ava Jerome (Maura West) on her own followed by hurting Trina and his friends. Esme has always suspected that Spencer has feelings for Trina so she called his bluff and when Spencer stepped closer to Esme and she recoiled, Chavez’s line delivery of “Do you still think I’m bluffing?” was bone-chilling in a spot-on way. When Esme tries to remind Spencer that Trina moved on with Rory so he’d be doing this for nothing, Chavez’s facial expressions wonderfully showcased the combination of heartbreak at the idea of Trina moving on and the longing Spencer has for her. Fans are looking forward to what happens next in this storyline and they know Chavez will continue to deliver. Bravo, Chavez!
